The whole team had a brain fart in OT!! Ther was no reason why Phil should not have called a timeout Kobe teamates kept looking fim him to finish and Kobe himself was ballhogging! Then you then there was Utah who changed their game to bullyball and got away pretty much with everything.
Utah was pushing and pulling and getting away with murder. all because UTAH CANNOT play with the LAKERS on and even plain. If this series was to be a sweep the league would be very upset at the Lakers .
And the league all it does is prolong UTAH (BLEEP) season. REMEMBER THE LEAGUE HAS TO MAKE IT LOOK GOOD. ALSO IF WE MAKE 9 FREE THROWS IT OVER!!! Thats why we have the Zone installed Shaq was too unstoppable and the Lakes had won three in a row. So they felt that they did not want one team or one man Domination!!! They feel they want to give other states and their teams a try to win! HATERS ARE WITHIN THE National Basketball Association!!!! :banghead:

actually..most of our shots didnt even come from cuts...it was kobe driving then dishing...give props too jazz defense for that...or kobe was just driving and had one thing on his mind, Shoot....like dcash said..lamar was killin it 7 shots were from shots himself...

oh and btw...if you look at the game...in 3 possessions...right when they passed sasha the ball in the inbound pass, kobe was the first to go to the ball...he wanted the ball..phil cant act like they gave it to him like they depended on him.

anyways...a healthy kobe in game 5 and i predict a W

I think it was everyone's fault. Kobe's teammates weren't moving...I don't exactly buy that.

Some weren't moving because they are spot-up shooters, such as Fisher and Sasha. Fish made 10 straight points for us in clutch time. He single handedly got us back in the game. He still wanted to win, he blocked that last shot of regulation. Then after some bad possessions he tried to dribble and created a situation where he was fouled. I think he clearly wanted to win.

But he knew that Kobe was injured, thus he didn't give it to him on that breakaway between him and Kobe (can't remember if that was in regulation or OT).

Regardless I don't think they all bailed on Kobe though Pau and Lamar were ball-watching. That still doesn't excuse the fact that Phil left Kobe in the game. He was obviously a liability. I don't care that it's Kobe Bryant. I feel like this always happens in overtime and it shouldn't surprise anyone.

For years when it comes to overtime, we have consistently seen this team turn into just Kobe going isolation. Now the whole point of this thread is asking for a direction to our blame...

I think it's everyone. The team for not taking more initiative. Kobe for not knowing he couldn't do it alone. And Phil for not reining Kobe in and either putting in a substitute or getting the team to run the offense. Me? I blame the coach, since his ultimate job is to do just that--control the players.

I guess that's what his latest quote is about though...getting the team to stay a team. Even if the game goes past 48 minutes.

In addition fish did try more than any other in game four! But now its time to bring it home. Its clean up time!!!!

Q: Why did the basketball player go to jail?

A: Because he shot the ball! :nonono:

The last 2 games in Utah, the Jazz D has taken the Lakers out of their normal offensive flow. They aren't giving the lakers their normal positions on the floor and fighting the off-ball guys for every movement around the paint. That has led our guys to not move the way they need to to get the offense flowing.

At the end of the game I think it was a combination of guys not putting that exstra effort into getting thier position and getting open, a lack of recognition of the overall situation on the court and with Kobe not being 100%, and Kobe not switching from being focused on creating a shot to focusing on creating a pass.

Our guys weren't making the off-ball cuts they needed to, they didn't react to what was being thrown at them and Kobe should have tried a little harder to find the open man.

The Jazz wore us down plain and simple... We needed to get off and running much faster in the last 2 games.

That and Radman is useless, Farmar ate something that made him stupid, and the Jazz are free to play their normal physical game but we get whistled (ejected) when we try to match them...

Sure, they were standing still Kobe-watching and not moving off the ball, Phil could have taken a time-out, Phil could have even taken a limping Kobe out, Kobe could have passed the ball to Odom or Gasol more often et cetera. But all this finger pointing is a moot point, because...

108 points is enough to win any NBA game. Lacking defense was the reason why we lost this game.

That defense they turn on in the fourth quarter needs to be turned on form the start of the third, and that's our ticket to the Finals.

Offense definitely became extremely stagnant for the Lakers at the end of the game.

It was as if everyone became shell-shocked or something.

Kobe's teammates get the blame once again. Personally i think it's Phil Jackson not trying get on Kobe when he screws up because of there relationshp when Shaq was here when Phil called him out in his book. Phil is putting all blame on Kob teammates even when it's not there fault.

It was very clear in that overtime that all Kobe wanted to do was shoot. It had nothing to do with his teammates bailing out on him. His intention was to shoot and be the guy who saved the day with his back injury.

I'll give Kobe a pass on this one, but if it's game 7 and Lamar is 13-21 for 26 points, Fisher, Gasol and Sasha shoot very well, and Kobe is like 13-34 and the Jazz win Game 7 then your going to hear a lot of Kobe failed to recognize the hot had when it mattered the most. He will start getting a reputation of being one of the most talented players to ever play the game, but doesnt execute well in close games in the playoffs like MJ, Magic, Bird.

I couldnt agree with this more! It seemed like kobe wanted to be the hero and win it all by himself in OT....even though he lost his super powers due to his injured back and looked slower then luke walton...well maybe not that slow haha but still in OT thats when he should of been the most trusting of his teammates and it looked like he had none.....hopefully this isnt a sign of things to come....

I think phil meant exactly what he said. kobe took the shots, but guys really werent cutting or asking for the ball. i think their relationship is so cool that phil could call kobe out and kobe wouldn't really sweat it.

Flip that , I think we win as a team and lost as a team .
Everyone outside of Kobe , L.O , Pau , and Fish was terrible and it is what it is .
The Jazz took care of their H.C and now we have to take care of ours .
We have two games left at home , so it a must that we win the next one and hope we can pull an upset in there H.C .
If not then it leaves us with Game 7 .
Hopefully Luke , Farmar can break out of the bad games they have had in this series.

Now is not the time for the players to point fingers at each other. There is only one place to point fingers right now, and that is DEFENSE.

Again, 108 is enough points to win any game. Shut up and play some shut-down D!!! Rotate and box out earlier in defensive rebounding situations. Long shots mean long rebounds. Don't turn the ball over. It's bleeping fundamentals that are not being executed well. If they can just clean up their execution a tiny bit on both ends, this series is ours.

We lost game 4 due to poor free throw shooting and poor defensive execution.
Offense was not the problem.
We cannot have guys like Harpring and Corver have those kinds of offensive games. Also our rotations on defense were poor most of the game. Okur seems to be open for outside shots all the time. Our pick & roll defense jsut let us down.
I still think the Lakers are a better team overall and will win the series.
Just execute better on defense, rebound, do better on the freethrows & cut down the turnovers.
