Kobe all nba defensive first team

Post#1 » by nermindee » Tue May 13, 2008 9:47 pm

http://www.nba.com/news/defensive_team_080512.html , kobester cant stop rackin up the awards... but we all know what his real goal is, he doesnt really put too much importance on this stuff, but knowing him, he'll say he is honored and all that good stuff... we are so lucky to have the best player in the game... but dammit lets get rid of the jazz already. GO LAKERS!

my bad if this subject has been posted already.

Well deserved!

KG and Kobe tied for getting the most points for their respective positions. Out of the 29 other coaches in the NBA (Phil isn't allowed to vote for Kobe), 24 voted for Kobe as tops, 4 voted him as second, and Isiah Thomas voted for Nate Robinson.

This distinction means a bit more to me than the MVP voting, since the coaches vote, rather than the media.

That's Kobe's 8th defensive team in his career. He's going to have a good shot to finish in the top 3-4 ever when his career is done.

On a side note, Duncan tied Bobby Jones and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for most all d teams ever this season with his 12th selection.

MVP
5th in DPOY
All NBA 1st
All D 1st
1st seed

Quite the season Kobe is having thus far. Hopefully his injury isn't going to limit how long we get in the playoffs.
