Media availability session with injury updates

Post#1 » by f0gman » Fri Jun 6, 2008 6:08 pm

Just finished watching the Media Availability session on NBATV.

Injuries:
Pierce was able to walk unassisted, gingerly to the podium. His knee is still swollen. He and Doc agree that if the game were today he wouldn't play. Both were noncommittal about playing on Sunday, but he should be able to play. Pierce is not getting an MRI to assess the damage, saying that he can either play or he can't. They'll take care of the injury after the season's over.

Perkins has a high ankle sprain. He's also expected to play but may be limited.

Lakers:
Odom and Pau both admitted they needed to body up more to get better position for rebounds. Pau in particular pointed out two occasions where his not bodying up on KG allowed KG to get a couple of offensive boards.

Kobe's champing at the bit. He and Fish admitted that the C's defense turned him into a perimeter player. Kobe said that he simply needs to make those shots.

Phil, when asked about Pierce's miraculous comeback, asked, "Who was in their locker room with him? Oral Roberts?"
