Re: Tyler's 2008 Off-Season Thread
Got this from a paper today....looks like we might have a chance at Posey with the MLE.
he Celts hope that Gabe Pruitt will be more prepared to make a contribution in his second season, but they’d also like a solid veteran alternative.

The key free agent remains James Posey.
If another club offers him the full mid-level exception played out for four years, it will be tough for the Celtics to match. But there have been encouraging signs, with Posey’s representative, Mark Bartelstein, saying his client hopes to be back in Green.
“I think James wants to be in Boston, and we want James to be in Boston,” Ainge said. “We’ll just see what happens. We’ll talk in more detail (Tuesday) and see what’s up.
“He’s shared his interest in coming back here, and we’ve shared our interest in that, too.”

Very Nice Thread. I almost like all of it. Just for 2 suggestions that you've written. The Odom deal and sending Joe Crawford and Radmanovic for 2 a**ho*l** of Philadelphia. I really don't wanna trade both of these guys but i can see that those 2 guys are most likely to be traded these off-season so we gotta make a better deal for that.

Iceburg Slim, true, but wouldn't those veterans sign with the Celts for the minimum anyways? So they might be able to use the full MLE on Posey. They are paying the luxury tax, so that might play a factor. It would be a little crazy of them to haggle over a couple million though, and lose him to us. That would be freakin' sweet though, and hilarious. They'd burn effigies of Posey in Boston if that ever happened.

Re: Tyler's 2008 Off-Season Thread
If Pat Riley can manage to screw up a deal with Posey, I got no problem believing that the Boston Brass can. I think we can pull this off. We've got a lot of youth, potential (tapped and untapped), as well as a championship contender missing one piece (Posey-type). I think we can sway him. With Bynum coming back next season, we'll be even more loaded than the Boston Celtics. Posey alone will change our defensive philosophy without gutting our team. Its the best move IMO.

Yeah we are. If you've looked at our line up going into the playoffs we had 2 guards and 3 power forwards and no good center to play defence at all. Brown would be welcomed bach here with open arms. Bynum and Gasol will need all the back up they can get, meaning Mihm, Brown, DJ, and Turiaf.
SF:Odom/Ariza/Walton
PF:Gasol/Turiaf/Radmanovic
C:Bynum/Brown.Mihm/DJ
SG:Bryant/Vujacic
PG:Fisher/Farmar
I wish we could packege Walton & Radmanovic for somebody.
