Charlie Villanueva?

Post#1 » by joe.linnen » Mon Jun 30, 2008 5:21 pm

I want to know how everybody feels about Charlie Villanueva? I have seen him play before and was wondering would he be a good fit on our team or not? I guess my main question is can he play defence at the Small Forward position?

Don't see a big need for him. Odom is a much better overall player.

Isn't the reason that CV is going to be traded is that he plays no defense and Scott Skiles will likely bench him, thus further reducing his trade value.

I really doubt that he is the type of player we would want at the three. Of course, I am always in favor of upgrading the talent on the roster whenever possible, but I personally would not be in favor of trading Ariza for him, which would work cap wise. I just don't see any realistic trade that would work.

The only player I'd give up for CV41 is Radmanovic and even that because his contract is shorter.

Isn't he a lot like Lamar in some ways?
I've been under the impression that he has motivation and work ethic issues and sometimes disappears during games.

Perhaps, but what I do know is that he's not even close to Lamar skillwise.

You are absolutely correct.
Lamar's basketball skills are much better.
That's why I don't understand why we would want Villanueva.
We have a more skilled version.

If we can get him for Radman or Luke (which we can't they only want a big) I say yes. Although they might take a Ronny deal for him espially if there were Redd for Verigio rumors.
I have been to the Bucks board alot from the trade.

In college CV was replaced late in games for a defensive replacement. CV couldn't guard any SF's in this league much less a PF. CV is garbage. How about Luke and Vlad for CV and that's only if CV has 2 more years on his contract. I would think long and hard if he had 3. Vlad>CV.
