Pretty decent signing if true, although I'd rather we had gone for someone who fills a bigger need (a tough nosed defender who's also a pure shooter, like Posey or Artest had he opted out).

^Well, that was the point of my thread regarding SF is the weakest link.

However, as discussed..It would also be nice to have a guy on the team who can score reliably and on his own.

Magette does just that.

first of all who is this "reliable source" you are talking about

and second, why on earth would maggette sign a deal for the mle when he could just wait it out for another four days or so and see where everyone else falls, possibly scoring a nice contract from the sixers, the warriors, or even the clippers.

he probably figured he'd get similar money from everyone, and he wanted to ensure his spot on a contender
but its all moot now
