Post#1 » by Mamba8 » Sat Jul 12, 2008 6:25 am

http://www.nba.com/summerleague2008/gam ... recap.html

There's the link an article about the game tonight. Overall Lakers lose to the pistons but by any chance did anyone watch the game? I just have the boxscore which can be deciving. But from the looks of it it loosk like Crawford and Karl played alright. Can anybody who watched the game give any insight to how are guys did

I'm not even kidding when I say this cause I watched the whole game.

Everyone sucked. Mata could be that tough guy we're looking for.

yup Matta is a banger, we should get him...
the boy really pumped some serious iron since he left ucla
hey another ucla player on the team/staff, i'm not complaining hehe

i thought Flight shouldve played well but didnt.. the rest of the guys outside of karl and maybe crawford/matta were sorry
i caught myself changing so often bc it was the rodney stuckey show, that boy could easily replace billups at the end of the year if mr.big shot slips up or gets injured, mr.stuckey is an allstar in the making
a bigger, stronger, and faster version of billups

You guys peep the Lakers foul collumn, damn I hope no one paid to see that game. 4 out of our 5 starters would have fouled out if they weren't playing YMCA rules..

Man Mata-Real makes me say hmm. He's a strong enforcer big tough big body guy, could be a nice asset as the last guy on the squad.

I had a hard time getting the stream to work for me but I got the video working early in the second quarter.

I wouldn't worry too much about the fouls. The officiating was horrible. They called every little thing and some fouls were pure BS where there wasn't even any contact. It was almost like the refs were anticipating a foul and calling it just in case. And this was on both sides. So don't take it, right now, as a sign of anything other than a poorly officiated game.

Karl played well for you guys. He was getting frustrated by the fouls, we all were, but he played through it and had some very nice plays.

Crawford was a little disappointing for me. I really like Joe Crawford and was looking forward to see him play. Most of the game he was invisible on the floor.

I thought Mata and Dunston played well for you guys inside, but I just didn't think they could handle Detroits size inside. But they let their presence be felt. They were blocking shots and grabbing rebounds out of Detroits hands.

It was a good game. Your guys played their hearts out till the end. I'm anxious to see what else they do this summer. Good luck and good health.

OK Rox, I'm saying he's making the team, dude can ball.
Don't you think Coby is a little more comfotable than Joe
would be in his first game repping the P&G?. Give Joe C,
at least another game before you throw him in the
garbage. Geez so impatient ;).

It is summer league ball. What do we expect to see. 99 percent of the players we will not see again till next summer league.

You jockin Karl way too hard, all he did was jack up J after J afterJ. If that was the best he could put out in a summer rec game then he's just like a man on death row. Joe will pull the switch at some point.

Joe only played 21 minutes and shot the ball 4 times and had 9 points. He impressed me by driving to the rack. 5 free throw attempts.................most of you guys are missing the point on what he does. He can flat out get to the line which is something our other "shooters" don't do.

:rofl2:

Yeah, man, I'm with you.

Most of these young players think racking up the stats reflects how good/great they are.

When one can get to the line on a potential 3pt/AND1 play, one helps one's transitional defense tremendously and opens up "rebounding opportunities" for one's rebounders.

But to our "shooters" defense, I believe Farmar/Sasha have did a decent job getting to the line early-midseason (although I didnt catch many games then).

Oh, and if Sasha decides to stay with the Lakers, I hope he can continue on in his career of modeling after a prime-Kevin Martin's offensive game.

Yeah Verb these young cats only think one way and us veteran guys see right through them. They don't understand that it's way more to ball then just slippin in a uni and jackin up bad shot after shot. They gotta learn the cerebral aspect of it. Until then they'll just be clueless.
