Like keep them on roster maybe inacitve but can't hurt to have some depth W/ the likes of Chris Mihm and his injury history. If Mihm can't go where do you turn you got Bynum, Gasol and LAmar that's it right now, with specualtion on Benga but somebody else could add him for depth so no guarentees for depth.

LOL hell no dude... Tractor hasnt played in 3 years!!!

hahah glad someone checked that out.

As for Tractor, he didn't get a training camp invite from his summer league team. That worries me.

The Lakers confirmed Wednesday that former NBA player Robert “Tractor” Traylor has been invited to their El Segundo practice facility for a private workout to be conducted Thursday. The 31-year old Traylor has not played in the NBA since the 2004-2005 season, when he averaged 5.5 points and 4.5 rebounds in 74 games with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Traylor will be put through an assortment of drills by the Lakers’ coaching staff that likely will include Bill Bertka, who has been at the practice facility this week. Orange County Register

Poor Tractor Traylor....he'll never live up to his "potential", and being traded for Dirk certainly doesn't make things any easier.

But maybe he can return to the NBA and throw one of these nasty dunks down :P

Look Mitch is not gonna sign some slug just to fill a roster spot. He will only sign him if they like what they see, probably a one-year NON-guaranteed contract so if be messes up, he can be cut loose rather painlessly...

The Lakers FO KNOWS what Mbenga can (and can't do) and Tractor-Man played in the Vegas Summer League and did pretty well from what I heard.

He is NOT a starter, but all we need is 5-10 minutes from the guy, at the PF position. He is a big wide body, 6'8" and near 300 lbs, hell if he can stand in the lane and put his arms up he will be playing better "D" than Krume Brown...

The Lakers should get him. He must be really good, he was traded for Dirk.
