FROM DEEP?

Do you think Kobe will ever get better at 3 pointers? Just a simple question

In theory, Kobe could have a much higher 3pt %. There are several reasons why his % is fairly low compared to players like Peja, Vujacic, and etc.

1. He pulls up for a three instead of getting set for a three, like how Peja and Vujacic do.
2. He shoots with a hand his face.
3. He shoots the long ball because his teammates gave him the ball with no more than 5 seconds left on the clock.
4. He's an overall player, and not 1 dimensional like Peja and Vujacic.

Like I said in the beginning, in theory, he can become atleast a 40% 3pt shooter if he had the same role as those players. Lets not forget that the MVP and MVP-runner up is setting them up for a nice open look.

Being at his "prime" has nothing to do with 3pt. shooting.

I agree completely with Lux. If anything I bet he is the best 3pt shooter on the team.

The fact that he can shoot that high a percentage when he's shooting over guys, fading, clutch moments, time constrained, off balance, and deeper then average most of the time its phenomenal.

Most of the top percentage guys shoot high percentages BECAUSE of guys like Kobe. They shoot wide open rhythm shots or clean looks off multiple screens.

You forget that Kobe holds the all time record with 12 in a game, not even all the great shooters of the past have been able to do that.

I think the main concern of people happens that regardless of how well he shoots them, he can do soo much more and often get so many more easy buckets or get teammates involved that they don't want him shooting so many.

I'm always comfortable when Kobe shoots a 3 and it always feels like its going in to me. I used to wish he would shoot it even more in the past because to me it was a better shot then letting some of those scrubs take even close shots. Now days we have guys that can really knock it down so I don't feel exactly the same, but he should still probably take the majority.

Kobe's range and proficiency at it is one of the reason why I personally think the Kobe is the overall more skilled player the Jordan. (not saying he's necessarily a better player, just that he has more overall abilities the Jordan is all.)

I'd have to say Andrew Bynum trumps all.
