Will Kobe Miss Any Time (Pinky Surgery)

Post#1 » by shobe_81 » Wed Aug 13, 2008 1:18 am

Ok so the Mens B-ball Olympics finish on Aug 22 right?

And Kobe's supposed to miss at the most 6 weeks after the Pinky Surgery right?

So why were people saying that he could miss the 1st or 2 weeks of the Season?

I guess the question is when will he get a surgery?

From my expectations I would assume he gets it as soon as at the end of August (say Aug 29) which would still give about 4 weeks of September of recovery and the 1st 3 weeks of October, that's 7 full weeks.

I'm not sure how the Pre-season Camp will play into it but he should have enough rest to be ready for the Season correct? Because I'm worried about the 1 2 weeks of November as we have a 4 game stretch with very tough Games and teams who could be challenging us for the high standings.

Sun 9: vs. Houston
Tue 11: @ Dallas
Wed 12 @ New Orleans
Fri 14: vs Detroit (East obviously but It could matter if we face them in the Finals and They end up with home court because of 1 more win).

Not sure, but I hope he doesn't miss much time if any. I want this team to play together for a full season,so they can get an air tight chemistry.
Only on realgm is 27,000 points, 5 rings, 1 rs mvp and 2 finals mvp considered overrated!

Bryant, who has been playing with a torn ligament between the fourth and fifth fingers on his right hand since February, says he will have surgery soon after he returns from the Olympics in China.

"I'm definitely set on surgery," he said. "As soon as I get back, we'll talk about it, do it, get ready for the season.

"I've heard three weeks, four weeks, five weeks. I heal pretty easy. I'm taking care of it, doing therapy, I should be back in no time."

Got that quote from the LA Times. He should make it back for the first game. Phil was going to give him training camp/preseason off anyhow being that he played in the Olympics over the summer.

Good cause we need this team healthy. I think Lakers can get 65+ wins and get home court advantage in the process with Houston being the real competition out West and Celtics/Pistons from East. Although I strongly believe that Losing Posey/PJ Brown gives the Lakers a very good advantage. I just want this team healthy to start out the season so we can get into a role fast.

Every game counts, Lets get homecourt.

Kobe is staying in shape by playing in the olympic games. So he might not need any training camp. So let him get it fixed, miss some of camp and be ready for the opening night.

Bump.

Is there any news whatsoever regarding Kobe's surgery? He's cutting it awfully close seeing as how the pre-season is just over a month away.

Wouldn't be surprised if he missed a couple games, but the season isn't won in November anyway so could be a good thing to get him some extra rest before the grueling season starts up.

Don't think he's going to miss any significant time though.

Well he set a date (tomorrow) when he will reveal his plans for surgery. On his website of course. A little dramatic...
