those are just arbitrary tier names they created, they actually have him 3rd in the mvp race behind paul and lebron.

The only people who are upset and making a big deal about this are those who want Bynum's extension to be a steal.

Not that anything is wrong with that, I get mad every time I miss footlocker's friend and family sales, but shouldn't Bynum get what he deserves?

And while his agent does seem like an aggressive douche bag type, that's what agents are like, their job entails getting the best deal for their clients.

I think people are hanging on too tightly to what a 20-year-old said months ago, as if he has an obligation to stick to what he said.

That's right, Sir. He already is. All he has to do is to stay healthy, and he'll make you a believer, too.

Personally, I think he's worth it, but first after he proves that he can stay healthy for a full season or two. For now, a little less than max would be fair. I think Andrew is more mature about his pay than his agent is, despite his age. I actually do think he'll be willing to take less just to stay with this team. Every promise he's made before has come true. The problem is that his agent won't budge. I say he should get a new agent if his current one isn't listening. The player is the boss, not the agent. Hear that, Ronny?

Staying with a young team that provides Kareem as his personal tutor, Kobe as his team mate, Phil as his coach, Gasol as his front court buddy, Magic, Worthy, Cooper, Shaw, Fox and guys like that hanging around the locker room; how could your long term possibly look any better?

He'll stay, but it won't be for a max contract. My $.02.

I say we get it done, whatever it costs.

Sure it would be better to be around 5 years, 65 million or something like that.. but the fact is, we need him to win Championships.

Lakers would be fools to let Bynum hit the open market. Give him the 80 Mill and be happy ya did. Every team in the NBA that had the cap would make a bid for him. Book it.
