..why is it that people can never be happy with what they have? You want an all-star team that on paper scares everyone - eg 2004 Lakers. Franchise?... puulease.

We'll be fine with our point guard position. JFar will be a solid poing guard for a long time in this league. He works to improve his game and its evident since his days at UCLA. He'll come back stronger this year, I have no doubt. IMO if we are so concerned about DFish's minutes, why not start JFar and have Fish come off the bench? I think it would serve us well to have a veteran that would "steer" the second unit and additionally, he'll be going up against less talented players.

PJax likes JFar alot and I doubt he'd want to move him for someone completely "new" to our system. At least I hope not.

1. We had no answer to the Celtics PG rotation. Even Cassell abused us.
2. PJ doesn't like Farmar that much. It's been known that Farmar is actually a little headcase.
3. Farmar isn't that mentally tough as evident by his performance against far superior point guards like Deron and AI.
4. I could be wrong but I don't think Farmar can be a starting PG on a championship team. We definitely need someone like a young Derek Fisher who is tough and can knock down shots from downtown with consistency. I sure hope that Farmar has been in the gym every day practicing his 3's because he's going to need it to spread the floor.

how is farmar a headcase? thats news to me. as far as his mental toughness, he's probably the only player that shot well in the finals. his 3 pt shooting is fine compared to fisher. fisher hasn't been this super 3 pt shooter with perfect consistency either. i mean, in fisher's 2nd yr he shot 38% from 3 pt land in the season and dipped to 30% in the playoffs. farmar's average improved in the playoffs from 37 to 38%. fisher's average took a nose dive in the playoffs the next yr too. it basically sounds like farmar is being criticized for not having fisher's experience.

as for sam cassell abusing, guy shot 37% from the field for 4 pts a game. he had two decent games of 9 and 8 points and scored 2 points total in the other 3.

Lets let some time fly by and see how our young guys improve. I like Farmar, Sasha, as our future PG. If Farmar doesn't improve defensively and Yue does. Then Yue could be our future PG with Farmar a great sub. If Farmar is starting against an abusive PG like Paul. Then we just rotate Ariza on him.

Lakers are to deep and versatile as a team. I don't think we really lack on any position for this reason.
