Re: Lakers want Livingston
I've never been high on Livingston. I always thought he was vastly overrated before he got injured. The Clippers organization had him pegged to be their "Kobe Bryant" in a sense. From what I've seen from his game is that he's an average player but nothing really too special. Sure I'd give him a shot at making the team, but I wouldn't commit any serious money at him. Especially since we have some financial decisions to make with Bynum, Lamar, and Kobe coming up.

Someone say "tall Point Guard"? Sun Yue. He's already on the payroll. Let this guy sign with Teh Heetz.

Re: Lakers want Livingston
The Lakers ABSOLUTELY need to give Livingston a shot. This guy is uber talented and would be great as the tall type point guard Phil Jackson has always preferred. The Lakers could slot him at 13-15 while his health progresses, he could be an important bench player towards the end of the season and he could possibly be the starting PG by the following season. I understand he wants a 3 year contract, I say give it to him . . . but give him a contract in which the 2nd year is a player option and the 3rd year is a team option, this would be fair.

Let alone the fact that he wouldn't have to move anywhere.
Do it, Shaun!

Re: Lakers want Livingston
Think Chris Mihm the last two years. That's how serious Livingston injuy is this year. He will not be anything this year. The question becomes will he recover for next season and be on the path back. If that is the case then how much is it worth for potential next season?

^Exactly. If we could roll the dice on Mihm (even after drafting Bynum) then you think we'd be jumping at the chance for Shawn. He has more potential (than Mihm) at a position we're weak at.

Re: Lakers want Livingston
He doesn't have a jumper and his quickness is questionable with his injury which means the chances of him playing good defense would be slim to none and his court vision should be the only reason awe'd even be considering him and we're not even an up tempo team to begin with.

Re: Lakers want Livingston

This Dwayne Mitchell guy looks absolutely ripped, a Derek Fisher kind of physique. If he could play the defense to back it up, then its bye bye Coby for me.

No way. His knee injury was devastating. He will never be 100 percent again. You don't make full recoveries from these injuries as a pro athlete. When doctors say full recovery they mean you will be able to do day to day things with no limitations. They don't mean elite level athletic day to day activity. And in all seriousness this injury doesn't have a 100 percent recovery rate.

He also added he's been around for 24 years and has rarely seen anything like this.

I've been saying this for a while now. I have a feeling Dwayne Mitchell is going to surprise a lot of people in the pre season. He was the best player in the SPL by far. He did a number on OJ Mayo (defensively) he's athletic as hell, has a decent shot, and is a good defender. I've already written Coby Karl off the team for him. He's exactly the type of player we're looking for, with a lot more upside than Coby Karl and his overrated set shot.
