Phil is taking some pressure off Bynum. That's nice of him to do, when the kid made the mistake of putting that pressure on himself in the media. Bynum is now free not to live up to his promise of 20/10 because Phil said so. And better yet, he can strike from a point of disadvantage, which suits his psyche perfectly. I think Phil knows that, too.

Politics aside, I still don't think it's all that improbable. If Bynum dominates the opposition, who will they go to down the stretch in games? You bet your arse that Kobe will go to Bynum if he's dominating the opposition's big men. Phil will, too. It will all come down to how dominant Bynum is.

If his progress continues from where he left off, there won't be a center in the league that can stop him. Maybe Perkins, but that's about it. Shaq is old, Oden is a rookie, Dwight has problems with Bynum, Yao will probably be injured half season again.

Pau won't get as many looks as most people think, I think. When it's all said and done, I wouldn't be surprised to see:

Kobe: 26.5
Bynum: 19 - 13
Pau: 16 - 6
Sasha: 12
Odom: 11 - 10
Farmar: 11

There's no doubt about it in my mind; this will be a very high scoring team. The Lakers have so much offense, it's not even funny. If they can just clamp it down hard on defense, I wouldn't rule out a 65+ win season. The Lakers will once again dominate. What a great feeling it will be!
