Granted, Elgin Baylor wasn't much of a GM. More importantly he was a great Laker who doesn't get nearly enough due.

I don't fault Elgin Baylor, more to the point it was Donald Sterling and his reluctance to shell out money to retain FAs. i remember the team of the early 90s w/ harper and manning, smith and loy vaught that was talented and on the cusp of contending. but due to the injury bug and reluctance to keep FAs that wasn't realized. at least IMO
