NBA team in..........Anaheim?

"I'm pretty confident that, maybe not next year, but within the next five years, Anaheim will have its own NBA team," said Greg Smith, executive director of sports, entertainment and conventions for the city.

Smith said he couldn't elaborate on behind-the-scenes negotiations, but he said he would expect to see an existing team move into Anaheim rather than an NBA expansion team.

I must say, HELL NO! Look, California has enough freaking teams. It is time to finally get a team in Las Vegas, Nevada, then after that in Kansas City.

I think it would be interesting to see 2 new teams... one in seattle and one somewhere else. Or it could be a sign that clippers are going to be moving to anaheim

I think that team will be the Clipper since they are seriously going out and paying the big money so they be cometetive, and they have always wanted to have their own arena, plus Orange County will embrace them as they did the Ducks.
As far as Vegas there will never ever be a team in Vegas, mark my words.
The reason behind that is the NBA/NFL/NHL/MLB doesnt want any team in Vegas, since they feel influence and corruption of that team will be very simple and easy. Thats why when you go to lets say Palms casino, you cant bet on any NBA teams or games becasue the owners (Maloofs) are owners of the Sactown Kings.

The NFL team is a LA issue (mostly with the collesium commission). The NBA thing is mostly a team willing to move. I'd say the Clippers make sense.

This is coming from a respectful Laker fan who enjoys dorming alongside with you guys for the past few years, but with all due respect, GTFO and go back to anaheim. I hope this message was sent to emphasize on the right messages, and I hope it doesn't send the wrong ones. It was fun while it last but let's be real, LA is ran by only one team: the Lakers. No pun intended, and thanks for being open-minded to this fanmail.

that was exactly my sentiment 3 years ago when donald sterling signed his current 10 year contract with staples...

for the health of the team, and the franchise, the very best thing they could ever EVER do would be to get out of the shadow of jerry buss and the lakers...

and memo to sterling; you can be a racist slumlord in the o.c. too...

I like the location of the honda center, but I really dislike that venue. It feels like I'm watching a game off the top of Half Dome Rock. But it's a good location for OC, plenty of parking. I've seen a ton of shows there of all kinds not once did i feel like I was wrapped up in the action

All Vegas gotta do is take gambling of NBA games off the sports books there and it's a go. But since the city and casino owners feel they'll lose too much money it hasn't happened yet. You think it was an accident Stern put the ALL-STAR game there in 06 ?

It was a test run, yeah it was some drama that went on that weekend but nothing that doesn't happen in any other city.

i highly doubt that there will be any expansion teams

Seriously. Send the Slippers over there and be done with it. I'm tired of the Slippers having 41 games a year at Staples. It's absolutely disgusting seeing Staples littered in red during their home games. God forbid they actually win a Pacific division or a championship. Imagine a Red banner hanging in Staples?? That's disgusting. And who would seriously show up for a Championship Clipper parade in Los Angeles?? The Clipper organization would do itself a great service by moving to Anaheim. SERIOUSLY.

Stern might be worried the Vegas team is gonna be worst than the early 00' Portland "Jailbird" Blazers.

I vote for an NFL team here first. I'm sick of driving to either to San Diego or up north to watch a game.. lol.

I too think that NBA will be the Clippers... we all know Staples is all Lakers hehe.
