Intriguing players cut/waived

Post#1 » by triplethreatt » Sat Oct 25, 2008 10:44 pm

DJ Strawberry should get Karl's spot if he clears waivers IMHO. He could bring some backcourt defensive depth, more valuable than the human victory cigar.

Some other possibilities: Salim Stoudamire (deep threat depth), Darryl Watkins (defending big depth)

Of course, if the the Grizz decide to waive Quinton Ross, he would be a great pickup as well.

Any thoughts? I realize we are talking about the 14th and 15th spots here, but why not optimize them if possible?

Yeah, I'll second that Strawberry or Ross thought... it's too bad those guys would have to fight an uphill battle learning the triangle. The chances we even look at them is 0% though...

Three degrees of separation from Dean Smith

Coby is George Karl's son
George Karl played for Dean Smith
Dean Smith coached Mitch Kupchak
Mitch does favor for Dean and keeps Coby

Strawberry went to Maryland....he gets no protection.

Perhaps later this year we get a little help coming our way when MJ sends us Gerald Wallace?

Real classy thing to say. It doesn't matter if Miles plays, the Blazer's owner Paul Allen is worth 16 + billion dollars. Miles makes Coby Karl look good. I don't think the Lakers need a guy that throws birthday parties at strip clubs while smoking a joint and a guy who wouldn't listen to Phil Jackson. Not to mention he isn't that good of a basketball player anymore. I think he has banged his hands on his head one too many times. Lakers have a good team don't mess it up with Miles.

Oh come on. While I agree with your assement on Miles. Real Classy ? I cant tell you how many Blazer fan/posts I read about signing Bynum to an offersheet just to screw with the Lakers. It goes both ways and neither is likely to happen.

Miles has the talent, but I'm not sure we could offer him enough minutes for him to be happy here.
