Re: Lakers waive Coby Karl
I understand the business of the Karl decision, but still....he seemed like a good player and a hard worker, so its disappointing to see him go. Hope he gets put into a better situation somewhere else.

DEEP3CL- Exactly.
Dcash/ST- Yup.
EE- Mhmm. Zo' might get some withdraw 2months into the season when he realizes he feels good playing w/o the wear&tear + the fact he's still a very good shot blocker & rebounder (w/ some sweet post moves/finishes to boot).
Btw, I thought he was married.
And as long as he's under 10% bodyfat he's serviceable.
One thing about Zo is he doesnt really need his hops to block shots; his timing is great.

i have a feeling he's going to be back. Perfect system for him. Too much depth this year, but I have a feeling things will open up next year.
Hope he plays for our d-league team.

Could it be that we're signing Lindsey Hunter? Hmm...

I hope not, but having that open roster spot let's us have that " rent a vet " option once they see we're in position to wreck shop.Erik Eleven wrote:Could it be that we're signing Lindsey Hunter? Hmm...

Not sure having 14 or 15 players really makes that much difference. Maybe in practice. DJ Straberry looks like a good young 6'5 guard that might add some wing defense to a team. If we keep this spot open, I hope we will use it if necessary.

I too think they should cut Sun as well... he was horrible during preseason... who misses 3 free throws in a row (centers i can understand but..) I only saw one very good shot and it was like 10 secs until end of game...
Now that we have an open roster.. who's spot is that for? hehe

I want Sun Yue waived so you guys will stop talking about him although that seems to have slowed down now that you guys seen him play.

coby karl was a pet project for the lakers for the last few years. nothing really panned out from it so it is time for the lakers to move on. no sun yue is the new pet project - hes a 6'9 PG that can handle the ball very well and shows signs of potential. i wouldnt be surprised if sun sticks around for a few years like karl did

It makes no sense to cut Sun since Lakers recently drafted him. Coby on the other hand have been here for years.
