Dudes, Chick did the same thing. Cut Joel and Stu some slack, sure we were spoiled with Chick, our present announcers arent that bad.

I think Stu is fairly unbiased and Joel is getting better. They can be annoying sometimes but with league pass the last 2 seasons I've learn to be really grateful for what we have. Some of the commentators out there are straight up horrible. Sure there are probably better choices but we could be dealing with a lot worse.

Joel and Stu are a pretty annoying combination. You could tell there is a total lack of respect Stu has for Joel. I really dont care much for Joel, but it is not right for Stu, whom I have always known as a classy and professional commentator, to treat the announcer in like dirt. This is what I think just happen:

1. Spero and MT getting promoted to TV. Spero is the Andrew Bynum of broadcasting. He is already an excellent announcer and has the potential to go down as one of the greatest ever. MT has a great sense of humor. Laker fans embrace the goofiness! Chick was as goofy as they come and he is he greatest basketball announcer ever!

2. Stu has said recently that "teaching is were his heart is at". You could tell that he has had the itch to coach for years. This new thing he has going on Laker pre game shows were he demonstrated fundamental basketball techniques is a good way to showcase his potential coaching skills. With all these years of commentating and helping facilitate the Pete Newell big man camp, Stu could very well be a good NBA coach. Now seems like a good time for Stu to make a career change.

First, you know how hard it is to get an NBA head coaching job? Stu would have to be at the most an assistant coach before some owner will trust an announcer to be the head coach. There was a vacancy for the Wildcats and they got their announcer to take over because no one else wanted it.

I'm okay with Stu. If it turns out to be Stu and Dedes next season, all the better. Anyone know when Joel's contract is up?

We should have emails going to KCAL from here, Lakersground, and Club Lakers requesting Spero Dedes be the TV Commentator on KCAL to get things started.

Stu stays no matter what. There's no way he gets fired. I would love to change the pre and post game announcers though. Although I did like that they brought on Rick Fox. That was a good change

... They won an emmy....

Stu is godlike in radio commentary. He's UNBIASED and analytical. Joel does a decent job. Spiro is to hot for TV, and he makes more on radio anyway.

Stu stays no matter what, in my opinion. Like Ty said, I couldn't imagine watching a Lakers game without hearing his constructive comments. Dedes, Lantz and Mychal Thompson would make for a nice trio.

Less than greatness isn't good enough for this franchise. I don't think Joel cuts it. If they can't get Dedes, I'd go with Matt Money Smith.

Wow a lot of you really like Stu and don't much care for Joel. I don't remember hearing a commentator talk as much as Stu does telling us what everyone should be doing on every single possesion and fawning over Kobe. Some of you seem to think Spiro is cut for Radio. I totally disagree he's destined for the simulcast no doubt in my mind.

During last night's game, Joel made a comment about Yi Jianlian being "quick". Stu immediatly responded with "quick, are you kidding me?, he is fast!" I feel bad for Joel, it's like there is no win with him. Stu is part of Laker culture and is not going any where, unless he finds a gig, like perhaps head coach of San Diego State or something like that. Im all for a Spero Dedes simoucast.
