not only you

IMHO, critter has the flash but didnt have the substance

probably suffered from playing behind fish and farmar to the extent that every time he stepped on the court he tried way too hard, way too much and ended up turning the ball over a lot or taking ill-advised shots

he was only played limited minutes because phil knew what the FO was doing, and he had to dangle just enough carrot so that the grizzlies (or anyone really) would bite when time came around to make the big trade and just few enough minutes that scouts couldnt tell what his weaknesses were

from his very first game in summer league i knew he was going to be trade bait, appeasing kobe wouldve taken much much more, grizzlies were asking for one of farmar or crittenton, lakers sucked it in and stuck with the UCLA recruit instead

in fact grizzlies asked for hell of a lot from the lakers, they also wanted marc gasol + sun yue, but we negotiated sun out of the trade

critter would make a decent PG backup if he ever started playing team ball instead of trying to emulate starbury/francis PG ballhogging style

my 2 cents of him anyway...

Even without being flashy I think Critt has the talent to succeed in the league. His hunger to learn and get as much PT as possible was pretty evident when he's still in LA, and Phil have said several times that he needed more patience. Mind you though most of his positives come from his raw talent, how that translates when he becomes a starter would depend entirely on him and how well his coach can guide him.

I was high on him and hated to give him up in the Gasol deal...however, you have to give something to get something.

He has the size Phil typically likes in his points, as opposed to Fish and Farmar.

Critt will be a star in the league in a few years.

i'd have to say that critt with the right minutes(20-25) he's going to average 8 pts and 5 asts better then what antonio daniels did in 40 minutes
