G Wallace vs. R Jefferson by the numbers

Post#1 » by lakeshow248 » Mon Dec 15, 2008 9:14 pm

G Wallace 6-7 220 26 yrs old. Min 37.9, 15.6 ppg, 7.7 reb, 2.2 ast, 2.1 stl, 0.8 blk, .427fg%, .220 3pt%, .772 ft%. gets to ft line 6.9 times a game. Salary-- 8.2 m, 9, 9.8, 10.6, and 11.4 player opt.

R Jeff 6-7 225 28 yrs old. Min 37.1, 18.6 ppg, 5.1 reb, 2 ast, 0.9 stl, 0.2 blk, .436fg%, .388 3pt%, .778ft% and gets to the ft line 5.4 times a game. Salary-- 13.2 m, 14.2, 15 for nxt 3 yrs.

It is tough Wallace's reb, stl and ability to get to the line more is impressive and RJ's 3 pt % is nice and his jumper is more consistent.

Looks like RJ got the better handle.

I think we just have to have the floor spacing only RJ can bring of the two. Wallace is probably a better defender but I'm seeing him as redundant to Trevor.

They'd want alot.. I agree though. I'm sure it would start with Trevor and Jordan

^^ I wouldn't mind Trevor and Jordan for Caron but they wouldn't want Jordan now with Critt there. Anything involving LO would be fine by me but the Wiz' would rather sit him with a phantom injury than trade him even if they think about tanking the season.

We'd rather concentrate on getting either Capt. Jack or Battier at the moment.

If we don't start playing better D, I'm gonna concentrate on Capt. Morgan.

i'd love sjax on this team, though his contract might be a concern for the front office. i'd give up ariza and odom for him. he brings the defense, outside shot, and overall toughness this team needs. i'd give josh powell post of odom's minutes and give bynum 34-35 instead of 28-30

Odom is actually a very nice fit in Nellie's offensive scheme. I'm not sure I'd be ready to give up Ariza that easily.

We need Wallace but we will not get him because we have nothing to give up.. According to trade rules we cannot give up the first rounder and Charlote will not take Odom or the rest our crap we would like to trade..

RJ is a Ariza clone.. poor outside shooter at SF postion this is a liablity... Thats why NJ traded him..We are better off with Lamar Lo Dump with his better passing.....

Agree 100%. Jackson, Battier, and Artest should be our targets this season. We don't have to give up THAT much for them, and they provide everything we need at the perimeter.

battier and artest play for the rockets, a team hoping to come out of the west. might as well forget about them.

He's hitting .388 from 3.

Can you expand on how he's a liability from dsitance? Especially compared to Odom and Wallace?

Most of RJs points come from dunks.. he make those 3 once in a while but bulk of his points come from back door cuts and dunks.. This is from the 4 years i saw him at NJ..
He used to struggle big time in his the mid range game.. Thats where Wallace is much better..
We dont kneed a 3 point shooter we need someone who can consistently make the midrange jumper and if required dribble and break down the defense ... In these points Gerald fits the bill better than RJ
