either teams are playing harder when they meet us.. or our D just sucks. And im leaning more and more toward the D part.

And I forgot to mention one thing:
Everybody hating on Kobe's clutchness. Give the man an opportunity in crunch time, and 8/10 times, he'll come through. That 3 in front of the Knicks bench was heartless.
Great job by our MVP.

Other teams really do play harder against us but our defense is very passive too.
I was watching a Cs game a few days ago. They play very aggressive defense. They are up in your face on every play. Every possesion of the opposing team is challenged by the Cs. They literally suffocate the opposing offense. The other team can never really comfortably get in their sets. As much as I despise the Cs and I have for more than 30 years. I really was impressed by their defense.

I'm not feeling Luke over Vlad though. I'd prefer he goes back to starting, though I will say Luke makes me sad at most of the teams post passing skills and habits. Nobody feeds the bigs like Luke.
Speaking of Bigs.... Drew looks to have a rookie wall on that knee eh? Wonder how he can get a second wind. Granted they have no 7ftrs playing the 7sec offense which is tough, but that's not the first game I've seen him slowing down a bit.

By the way, I missed the first half. Thank god. Was Farmar THAT BAD on defense that he only played 9 minutes?
When's Phil going to learn that he should be using a three man merry-go-round at the guard positions like he's doing with the PF/C.
Fish
Kobe
Sasha
Walton, Ariza
Pau
Bynum
Odom
Glad to see Powell get minutes to. I was screaming for that guy in the off-season, and I love his rebounding. Nice touch for a big man on his jumper.

I agree lakerRD, we just don't go full out on D the way you have to. It's like they don't wanna burn themselves out or something. In basketball all you have to do is make a guy shoot a tough shot just contest the shot, nothing more nothing less.lakerRD wrote:Other teams really do play harder against us but our defense is very passive too.

The Lakers are so concerned with penetration so much they sag to the paint for no reason, especially against teams with no dominate post presence. That is was is really wrong with the D, because that's Phil philosophy and the fact we can't rotate with any sense of competence what so ever.

Right now, the team is coming out of the experimental stage and they're still building chemistry together.
Phil loves to tweak around w/ his roster and be as nonchalant as possible.
Things usually work out for Phil; he's successful.
But if we're to make any trades soon, I hope he knows who his keepers are.
Btw, how long does Phil Jackson's contract run?

Luke made the offense run a lot better. He seeks the open floor, no matter where it is, he gets open, gets the ball and feeds it to the open man or shoots it. He also hustles back on defense. Radman camps out by the three point line and reluctantly runs back on defense once the possession is over.
Good win. They needed a tough comeback win just like this before they go on the road.

after reading through, i determined the world almost came to an end about half time, they were playing bad
but they pulled it out, and Lol at "worst 21-3 team ever"
i'm going to be taking a more positive approach to this team, and see where that gets me
