Bynum doesn't need any help remember?

Or is that what David Lee said?

Say what you want about Boston, but they don't mind adding to their roster w/ Veterans that can play, Pj Brown saved them against the Cavs w/ a big shot and Cassell was a driving force behind Rondo learning on the job more.

And no one here is going to tell me that KG and Dikembe playing side by side in the fourth quarter is not going to be intimidating. Bynum and Gasol could learn a ton from this guy and he is an amazing teammate from what I hear. Lakers need a strong veteran presense and he would be perfect.

And if you can play D like this guy, you make min for him, when Yao was out last year and the Rockets reeled off however many wins it was this guy was playing and making a huge impact on the defensive side of the ball.

Mutumbo is a has been.. he has no mid range jumper like PJ brown... so the celtics can have him..

They any way have no room for him to play.. Posey, Big Baby ,Cendric Perkins and Bryant are all much better offensively than whatever is left of Mutumbo. And their defense works in the boston scheme..
Only 1 person can play center.. so having mutumbo is no use for them..

Do we need him...
Well we have Bynum who does not run the floor, turns over the ball with travelling voilation and has no offensive moves.... If we get mutumbo we will have 2 similar players.. And no way does Mutumbo change the defense of this team.. it has to start with all our guards giving up on the gambling mentality and going for steals all the time....

Celtics with their current squad and much improved Rondo look like the NBA champion team of last year.. So i dont know why are Boston looking at throwing their money on this old hag..

If Mutombo would be signed, it would have nothing to do with Posey's replacement, simply Celtics doesnt have a decent back-up center, and vet like him could be perfect for ~15 mins., at least better choice than PJ last year.
Who would win one-on-one in HORSE?

Bird: Nobody beats me in H-O-R-S-E. Besides, Magic cant shoot.

Magic: Larry, you'd have no chance against me one-on-one. I've got too many ways to beat you. Plus, as slow as I am, I'm still faster than you.

Mutombo is a very vocal leader and I remember McGrady and the rest of the Rockets saying that he was a big locker presence when he was playing for them. He'd tell the younger players of the changes they need to make in playoff games and stuff like that. Don't know how his game is holding up though. I wouldn't want him if he's like Robert Horry now.

Anyway I really do not see the Lakers interested in adding any veterans for leadership purpose. The confidence is still with Kobe and Fisher to settle things in trouble.

Fisher, remembered, “We weren’t sitting around waiting for something to happen to become one of the best teams in the league. We set out to become that.”

The man is like 45 though he's listed at 42.....Bullsh*t, all he doing is making himself another "ring hoe".

Nah deep that's not it. He wouldn't be replacing Posey. He'd be backing up Perk and taking Baby's minutes away. We need a back up center with size badly and he would fill the need perfectly. Posey was great but so far we don't really miss him much. Patrick O'bryant can't fill that void. I'm fine with him trying to chase a ring. That man is a saint and he deserves a ring.

See you on X-Mas boys!

Yeah I only use Pose only because it seems like most of your fans didn't want to see him go. But I do understand Deke would be actually filling in for Perk because the lost of PJ has had more of an effect on the C's front line then losing Pose. I'm not down with the whole ring chasing thing.............guilt should kill you knowing you leeched on to a team and city you had no allegiance to during your career. Just for the sake of having a ring. Hell I was skeptical of Malone and GP when they came here for the same thing, but theirs would have been different because they where along for the whole ride, this half season crap kills me.
