Good interview.
Phil talked about Walton's foot injury a little and how it was genetics.
He talked about (HTA!) why Walton was inserted into the starting lineup (wanted more ball movement, primarily) and how Vlad would get his opporuntity again soon so he should be prepared.
HTA how Trevor has done coming off the bench, and how he likes the fact that he doesn't want to be a starter because he's more of a role player that's accepted his role.
HTA how Bynum went through a funk a few weeks ago where he couldnt' stay out of foul trouble and gave him a pep talk about how to get back to what worked for him before and how teams have adjusted to limit his lob opportunities. He also mentioned how Bynum was having problems with the Sky Hook due to the amount of contact allowed in the NBA, or at least why he doesn't pull it out in real games.
HTA how Sasha was brought originally to be a PG, which is why Phil feels comfortable with him in that role (or as he said, capable and comfortable, particularly on defense).
HTA our lack of toughness last year and how Odom and Gasol were taken out of their games by the physicality of Garnet and co.
HTA Odom and his contract situation, as well as why his role was important and not just his statistics (which Odom thinks will affect his contract). Odom battled it early on but has now settled into his role and he appears to be happy. [I hope we find a way to resign him, personally.] He's very happy about his offense AND defense.
HTA how Kobe is just as demanding of his teammates as Jordan was (making his job as a coach easier), and he answered "Yes" to the question without hesitation. [I personally was expecting him to say Jordan was more demanding.]
