Lakers and Blazers will be the West elite team 2010 - 2017.

It was so nice of the Grizz to give us Gasol and then to sign Miles to play him for 2 games... (unless they bench him so Portland will help the out in a trade Another conspiracy theory?!?)
Lakers are 22-3 in OT last 6 seasons:Kobe best OT closer!

I wasn't too happy with Brian Grant's contract. We should have done the same thing.

This is lame. But also, let's remember how badly D Miles sucks, and that's his fault.

This type of bs happens only when both of two parties are unprofessional and incompetent.

I don't think we should sign him because we don't need him. "Threat" or not.

Im with Danny and Phil on this one.
Skip Portland.
They would definantly try to skip us over if it was the other way around.
Paul Allen needs to keep his mouth shut and deal with his screwups instead of sitting there and threating other teams of legal actions.
What a dum ish, what did he think he can throw his weight around, you might be a billionare but you dont own the NBA.
And props to the league for standing behind this problem and not allowing Dbags like Paul Allen to make threats to other owners or players.

If the Grizzles don't play him and they cut him we would be damm fools not to pick him up and play him for 2 games. With and up and coming Oden, Roy and Aldridge they will be our rivals for the next couple years. Imagine as deep as they are they pick up a fa and beat us next year.
Not only does it prevent them from being alot more under the cap for them to get better for all we know they could easily offer Odom a 4 year 48 million dollar deal or more or something we can't afford. With 18 million they could possibly get Odom and Ariza. It makes us that much closer to keeping our own fa's but not wanting the rival teams to get better is all part of the game.
I mean most teams refuse to even consider trading with teams in the same division.

Also they were only sopposed to get the money back because it was sopposed to be a career ending injury and it's not. They would have been better off not saying anything because now they are daring teams to sign him.

The NBA needs rivals and it could always use more ratings and drama and if the Lakers signed Miles and then only played him this year vs the Blazers the Lakers/Blazers rivals would be legendary. Also those games would get alot of viewers. The Lakers should get Miles and play him. Also he is so cheap and he has gained alot of muscle so even though he isn't as athletic he still can help teams. Why not us for a try considering it takes away the potential of a rival team getting a max player this year.

I see the Blazers move as a way of getting the NBA to change the rules for medically waived players counting against luxury tax..
Remember Darius Miles was evaluated by a NBA doctor and then was waived.. So in theory they are trying to renegotiate the luxury tax impact.. I dont think they care if Darius miles plays or not , they do care about having to pay 18million$ in tax..

Lets say if NBA had not agreed to allow cap free waiver of Darius then Portland would probably have stayed away from other large trades or signings and thus could have had a chance to remain under the cap..

I think this is a bizzare rule.. if a player plays 10 games all of the sudden his former employer is liable for the cap impact of his salary..

This could result if Miles shows that the Blazers' memo interfered with his ability to establish a business relationship (i.e. sign a contract). As I said above, it would be difficult to prove, but its a good argument.
