Hall Of Fame...You Decide.

Post#1 » by DubaLakers » Thu Jan 22, 2009 1:34 am

Hall of Fame? You decide...

Athlon Sports Writer...His answers...
1st the rules...Over 30, or have played 10 years in the NBA...

The No Brainers: (Again according to the writer)...
KB24 TD KG AI KIDD NASH DIRK S.O'NEAL
***I say Dirk OUT IMO***

The Half A Brainers
RAY, TMAC, ZO, PP (Writer said all in)
***I say only Ray makes it in this group, one great year for PP does not make a HOF career***

The Toss Ups
Chauncey, VC, GHill, Bob Horry, Marion, Deke, Ben Wallace, Sheed (Writer said VC, Deke only make it from this group)
***I don't give any of these players the HOF vote. I love Sheed, changed the PF spot, but he loves the tree entirely too much, otherwise he'd have put up more consistant numbers throughout his career, all are excellent, but not HOF, IMO.***

Robert Horry in the Hall of Fame? I know a lot of people like him but come on! This guy is quite simply a lousy basketball player.

I don't think Dirk should be in.

First of all, they need to get Tex Winters in the basketball hall of fame.

If you think Bob Horry is lousy, you really are a lousy fan, maybe you are just too young and you only saw him the last couple of years, I don't know, but he is one of the headiest players to ever play the game, he knows what to do, and when to do it.

He has numerous rings and has hit as many big shots as many superstars have over his long career.

Absolutely Dirk Nowitzki gets in to the Hall of Fame. He's been a consistently great player for a decade.

I remember reading that article and wondering what Nowitzki did to be a "shoe in." The mention of Horry dumbfounded me. He was clutch, without question, but HoF? A few players in the "toss up" section could make a case for the half-brainers.

C Webb and Payton are locks too amongst the recently retired.

and yeah Dirk needs to be up there as well. He's been consistently good and one of the best high scoring PFs of all time.

Dirk averaged 20-plus for an entire decade as the go-to guy on a consistently good team. Plus, right or wrong, he won an MVP -- I think everyone who has one is in -- been selected at least 3rd-team All-NBA eight times and is going to finish his career with nearly 10 All-Star selections.

That's a Hall of Fame career.

Plus, he's probably the best European NBA player of all time, and you can guarantee that's something the Hall of Fame committee, which bends over backwards to accomodate foreign selections, is going to look at very strongly.

all the no brainers are going to be in

i can see ray, pp and tmac getting in. zo's health really cut down his chance.

toss ups.............none of them make it at this point. a few have some good years left in them and can bolster their standing before they retire.

Return to Los Angeles Lakers
