The Lakers always play on xmas day. In addition, they play relevant teams. See SAC, MIA,PHX and now that BOS is relevant they get to play in the xmas day game.

ha, about to say the same thing. this was the first time the celtics were expected to be relevant when the schedule came out. before that, the celtics were stashed away for one of the more generic dates on the lakers schedule.

So ture, I mean these guys have been silent, not even silent...... They didnt even exsist, and they have been out of everything that had to do with basketball for over 20 YEARS......... 20 YEARS and now all of a sudden they think that they're bringing something special to this game.
They walk around like they were the first to walk on the moon or they were the first to part the Red sea or they have been in the finals or in the even in the playoffs every year.
Before last years one hit wonder team was built you guys were in last place, end ever since Larry Bird got you guys your last title, you guys werent even recognized as a team.
I mean come on fellas, get real.
One title after 21 years and thats all we hear about.......

 Good stuff fellas.

I'm not here to troll, but you see, here's the thing (and this is my personal opinion, not one expressed by all Celts fans) - you guys are absolutely correct (well, one of you anyways) when you say it's been 22 long years since the Celts last won the title. 22 years. And the last time the Cs made the Finals in '87, they got smoked by Showtime.

Since the last Celts title, I've watched;
- your boys win another 5 titles, bringing your tally up to 14 banners. Dangerously close to overtaking the Cs for the lead.
- one of my favorite players die before he even hit his prime. (R.I.P. Reggie)
- the pathetic season with ML Carr coaching the team to 15 wins, only to end up losing the lottery. Plus the guy we were trying to tank for ends up winning 4 titles. And the guy we drafted at #3 would eventually grab his own title while winning Finals MVP.
- the team suffer through the Rick Pitino/Antoine Walker era. Good old Rick would make the bone-headed moves from the front office, and Toine would make the bone-headed plays on the court.
- the patriarch of the Celtics die. (R.I.P. Red) And to follow that up, the man who Larry Bird calls the "smartest teammate" he's ever played with, dies too. (R.I.P. DJ). And to make matters worse, Pierce goes down with a stress fracture, followed by Tony Allen blowing his knee out. Franchise record 18 game losing streak. Wow. Hey, no big deal right? We'll get Oden/Durant. Only to get laughed at and become the posterboy franchise for why tanking isn't such a good idea.

Last year was sweet, because no one expected this (if somebody told you that the Sonics/Thunder would win the title after last season, you'd think they were crazy. Well, the Thunder finished with the same 20 win total that the Celts finished with in 2007). And I personally don't know when the next title will come. Another 21 years? Maybe 40? 50? 60? Who knows. Maybe by then, the Lakers (and possibly other teams, depending on how long it takes) will have more than 17 titles. I'm going to enjoy last year because it's been so long since the team won a chip, and I won't know when the next one will be after it. The fact that it came at your boys' expense makes it even sweeter.

Go ahead and laugh at me and say I'm one of those Cs fans that lives in the past. You guys can always point to your record for Finals appearances, most wins, highest winning %, having better celebrities sitting courtside, fancier haircuts, etc. I'll just point to the 17 banners, most in NBA history, because that's all that really counts to any true Celtic fan, and it's one thing that none of us would trade for all your franchise's accomplishments.

So to summarize:
- the Cs have more titles than the Lakers
- more than half of those titles (9) have come at your expense
- it was really fun humiliating you guys again last year. I'm going to remember that one for awhile. Thanks for the memories.
- you guys can stop pretending that last year doesn't hurt anymore, since it's a new season. You and I both know about the "Boston sucks" chant ringing loudly, when you guys were playing the Blazers.

See you guys on February 5. You guys wanna lay another whupping. Our guys want revenge. It's going to be fun to watch!
