Comparing the current Lakers team to the showtime teams might seem feasible in terms of raw talent but those teams thrived on fast break basketball and were run by the genius of Magic Johnson at point. If our current offense was as foolproof as that, I wouldn't even mind thinking about defense.

The D does need to improve but with Bynum doing a better job rebounding and scoring should help by forcing teams to have to pack in the middle to stop Bynum and not allow them to get out and run. As far as the halfcourt D it needs work.
