i believe bynum explained he was trying to get up for gwallace, but because wallace came at him at such a speed, he couldnt get his arm up in the position he wanted to in time and bang, rest is history

It was the right descision, there no malicious intent. I don't want to forget the most important thing, wishing Gerald Wallace a speedy & full recovery

I don't know Phil, I've seen a few photos floating around; that elbow is up pretty high, and the point of contact is almost exactly where the injury occurred. I'm no doctor, and I have no idea what happened, so you might be exactly right. But I'd be very surprised if it was. It looked to me like he was starting to favor his side almost immediately, even before he hit the floor. The actual landing didn't really seem all that violent.

I think he may have missed a couple games if he was on the Clippers.

Right thats exactly why Einstein, pure freaking GENIUS.
But seeing how intelligent you are, maybe they should walk him to the Center of Downtown LA, and have Michael Jordan give Bynum 50 lashes, or better yet, why dont we take away his first born and teach him a lesson.

**** are you kidding me, Bell intentionally clothlined and put a choke hold on Kobe and we didnt overreact like some of you guys are, and all he got was one game suspension.

THIS IS SERIOUSLY GETTING OUT OF HAND.

But Im cool with it, like I said it is what it.
I mean look at how far some people are taking this.

And it will be ugly. Like Ammo clotheslining Kobe and putting him out for the year or something. Stern may have opened the door here for a big time case of revenge. But like I said, it likely depends on whether Crash is able to return or not.

Pathetic.

Yup, hope he gets better, Bynum just fouled him really hard, nothing personal. Also if this happens again with Bynum he has 3 points, 5 points for penalties to happen. With the flagrant foul rules if this happens again Bynum will be suspended. Still got a good amount of season, left.

I think the broken ribs happened on the hit too, not on the floor.

It would be an easy thing to verify.

Bynum hit Wallace on Wallace's left side. Wallace fell on his right side. (unless the Camera's inverse the angle, but I don't think they do).

None of the articles I read say which rib was broken or which lung was partially collapsed, so it's hard to know for sure, but it looked to me like Bynum lowered his shoulder and did a football hit on wallace. Hits like that in basketball are very rare. I never saw Oakley do one, or anthony Mason. They played rough, but I never saw Oakley ram his shoulder full speed into a players ribs while that player was in the air.

1 Bobcat player and coach brown said that there was no intent on Bynum's part

Charlotte coach Larry Brown said he did not think the foul was malicious, nor did he believe that the NBA should take action against Bynum.

Bobcats guard Raymond Felton, who was on the floor during the play, said, "I'm not going to make a big assumption, but was it a hard foul? No question. But I don't think Andrew Bynum was trying to hurt somebody."

I'm not sure what to think. It looked like a very dirty hit on Bynum's part to me, but at least 2 Bobcats disagree with me, so maybe not.

you're not sure what to think? really?

"andrew bynum, meet karma. karma, this is andrew."

yeah, ooook.

you don't have to go very far in the recent new york threads regarding bynum to see the low class comments tolerated on that board. glad every board isn't like that.

I dont know when he collapsed his lung. It was purely speculation on my part. It would seem there would be more force of him hitting the ground vs. bynum giving him an elbow. I am not saying that isnt possible and who knows maybe it was both.

However, it is clear that he was both hit on the LEFT side and fell to the floor and impacted on his LEFT side.

I supported a 1- or 2-game suspension from the get-go, but let's try to contain ourselves here. This is just a flagrant exaggeration. If Andrew is a half-step quicker, Wallace doesn't even get off the ground and it's a non-issue. It was an accident -- one that should have been punished in my opinion, but an accident nonetheless. No need to make Andrew out to be some sort of axe murderer.

I just rewatched the video. You see Wallace crumple as soon as he's hit by the elbow, and on the fall, his foot hits the floor first. I've seen players hit the floor a lot harder than that without injury.

anyway, upon rewatching it, I don't think Bynums intent was as bad as I first thought. Horrible play. I hope Wallace makes a recovery this season.
