I just find the whole "we-got-screwed-by-the-officials" to be so shallow and subjective that it's virtually pointless getting into. Everybody's entitled to some frustration and whatnot. But the lengths some people take it to, what with all the conspiracy theories, is ridiculous.

I mean, they honestly think they're going to get a hand check 30 feet from the basket in the dying seconds of a one-point overtime game? Seriously?

We even had a few people in our thread crying about the officials -- never mind the fact that we were shooting ourselves in the ass at the free throw line.

In that case, I'd much rather point the finger at the guys in uniform than the ones with the whistles. Just like I'd rather bitch at Lamar for leaving Diaw open for that late 3 against the Bobcats instead of cry about the touch foul that Bryant fouled out on in regulation.

I felt the same way after the Finals, too. I'm going to remember how soft we were in that series, and how we blew that ginormous lead on our home court, a lot longer than I will any disparity in foul shots in a few games.

i'm just glad that some of the veteran lakers board posters don't get caught up in the ref complaining that seems to be encouraged on other boards. i've noticed that most of the ref complaining from lakers fans has been relegated to the general board, cause that stuff isn't encouraged here.

Couldn't agree with you more dcash. I actually think that's what seperates our board from the others. When we lose we are either on the players that messed up or the coaching. The limited times that we have mentioned the refs, they were worth mentioning

wiretap

The Lakers' 110-109 overtime victory over the Celtics delivered a 2.7 U.S. rating and was watched by more than 4.3 million viewers.

the ratings are nice, but what was really enjoyable was the pic

Probably the game, but it's very, very close. Man. For a town that prides itself on its blue-collar toughness, they sure seem to get a lot of sand in their vaginas.

apparently the stern conspiracy, which was working so well in their favor last year, has shifted against boston. now stern and the evil empire are crapping all over the honest, hardworking godfearing people of boston to engineer a lakers cavs final!
