If Luke starts hitting the open jumper as he used to and starts posting up with power offensively we'll be completely set. However we're more likely to be searching for another solution.

interesting that the last 3 trades made by mitch have come with NO rumors ahead of the move. pau, ariza and dumping vlad all came without insider sources trying to give a heads up.

There actually have been a few rumors over the past couple of weeks regarding the Lakers being interested in listening to trade offers. Most thought they involved Odom though so they were probably dismissed.

Pau and Ariza were complete surprises though. I guess this one was somewhat of a surprise as well because I didn't really think we'd be able to move Radman without taking some nasty contracts back.

^^^^^hmm, i guess i missed that post. i remember working in the field that day, getting home and checking out realgm....................and practically pissing my pants when i read about the pau trade. i guess what i'm getting at is that all the rumors that last two weeks about such and such laker getting moved almost always end up not happening. it seems like the lakers are pretty good about keeping their hand close to the vest.

Vlad played pretty well for the Bobcats tonight. Good passing and actually tried on defense. Maybe the change will do him a lot of good.

That's what we believed when he said he will improve his defense in the beginning of the year. He will give you a good night then stink up the joint the next 6. Until he plays good defense for the rest of the season never conclude he has turn a new leaf.

he was ahead of the curb in terms of defense

just his mental mistakes continually let him down, playing on national television didnt help when those mistakes were replayed over and over again

Vlad actually got the message after last year about defense. It was a little embarrassing to see that it took him losing in the finals to understand that, but this year he came in trying really hard on defense. Right now he's a poor defender, but it's not because of a lack of effort. It's just something that he'll never be able to fix, but I think its acceptable because he's putting everything he has into the game. And I mean acceptable compared to the many players in the league that just don't even bother on defense. You can live with a Vlad on your team if he's playing hard (and coming off the bench).

I wouldn't be surprised if Ammo is traded again this season. He can be traded again by the deadline just not as part of a multi player package. Vlade's problem was his contract went beyong 2010 when everyone whats to have cap space. By shedding that year, Kupcheck can now trade Ammon with many other teams who didn't want Vllade's contract. I would think he want's a true expiring so the contract rolls off this offseason and he can resign ariza and odam. Wonder if he throws in a 2nd rd pick if that counts as a package. We have 2 - 2nd rounders (ours plus charlotte from earlier trade) and our 1st. Ammo & and 2nd for an expiring should be doable.

It's possible that he's traded for Joe Smith or the like. You may find a team willing to take on the commitment for a year or so to see if he turns out. If we give him some run and he shows good signs who knows?

More likely though he's here to stay for a little.
