What can we expect? Yue to be sent to the D-League and activating Brown.

Maybe he'll develop to the point of giving us some trade value, but in terms of him actually playing a role for the Lakers, I just don't see it. Even less with Brown, who's going to sit on the bench for the rest of the year before being discarded during the summer.

I actually see Brown getting some minutes to try him out for defensive purposes. I dont see much of an opportunity for Ammo. I do see a chance for brown though.

I'm not sure about that. There are three guys ahead of him in Fish, Jordan and Vujacic, so those minutes are going to be few and far between.

Unless he completely stands out, I don't see how he's going to get enough of an opportunity to show much this season. Then he's a free agent, at which point we'd have no reason to bring him back.

Maybe he impresses Phil in practice and gets another year, or maybe he does make the most of the next 32 games; stranger things have happened. But in looking at his numbers, he's got a long way to go to be a legitimate NBA player.

The reason why I see Brown getting minutes and or a chance. Is if he can come in and be a defensive presence in the back court. I am not looking at numbers here.
I dont know if he is that type of player, but if he comes in and shows he can D up some of those PG's that cause problems then there might be a small niche for him. As opposed to Ammo.

I dont know.. but if there were a scenario I would pick. It would be brown getting a chance to prove himself defensively as opposed to Ammo getting anything at all.

Not playing tonight vs OKC

LOS ANGELES - As expected, the two newest Lakers, guard Shannon Brown and forward Adam Morrison, were two of the three designated inactive players for Tuesday night’s game against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The same scenario likely will be repeated Wednesday night, when the Lakers travel to Salt Lake City to play the Utah Jazz.

The Lakers’ first opportunity for a full-scale practice won’t come until Feb. 16, the day after the All-Star Game. But Lakers coach Phil Jackson said Tuesday that Brown and Morrison will get their opportunities after the All-Star break

I agree that Brown has more potential value than Morrison. He's just so low on the totem pole right now that, until he proves otherwise, I'm going to assume his stay in L.A. will be a short one.

I think you and I might be talking about something different. I dont have any notions of Brown being with us next year. If he is, he would have really impressed. If.

My point is that I see more potential for Brown to get some PT this year IF he is able to carve a niche on the defensive side of the ball.
Phil said tonight that both will get a chance after the ASW. I see Brown being more helpful to this team this year than Ammo.
