Fleming, penicillin = invention of all time, isnt it practically in every kid's science subject curriculum anyway?

cured everything from the common colds to venereal diseases to changing lifetime prognosis of wartime injuries

btw, today, if you single handedly cure a disease (impossible these days), you are set, like in the billions set

look up a pharmaceutical company's R&D budget to see how much money is involved

cure a disease and mankind is in debt to you

btw, who the hell is babe ruth?

Babe Ruth is the woman who sewed the five-pointed stars on American Flags.

I'd rather cure the disease. My uncle is actually one of the leading cancer researchers in the nation. He leads a team of over 100 MD's, crazy $hit. I saw a picture of about 80 MD's in white coats taking a group photo and the only person wearing a suit was him, in the front.

he has his own clinic now.

so yeah, i'd rather cure the disease and be genius. you cure a disease you can nail any woman in grad school or anywhere else, if you think only athletes pull chicks and make money you're wrong. Not to mention I'd rather be in the company of smart, humble scientists than cocky uneducated athletes...imagine working with Smush Parker. no thanks.

EDIT: i didn't mean to imply all athletes are uneducated or all scientists are humble, but you know what I'm saying

I mean.. the easy response is curing a big time disease. However, does that guarantee you to be set for life? Maybe? Depends?

If you're a professional athlete.. even if you suck, you're probably making between 2-5m a year, minimum. I'd rather be set for life.

As hard as it is, I would choose the athlete. However, stopping a disease that's hurt so many people would be extremely satisfying.

There's also the question.. What kind of athlete would you be?

Would you be someone like Kobe Bryant? Upwards of 40m a year with everything included.

Or.. Smush Parker? Sitting on a park bench?

If I'm Kobe.. I'm taking the money and the pro athlete. However, if I'm Smush (thank god I'm not), I'm curing the disease, no questions asked. :P

the answer is yes

curing a disease usually means coming up with a pharmacotherapeutic solution, that in itself is worth billions

did you know the average amount of money it takes to design and test a lead compound, prove its safety and efficacy, getting FDA approval then bringing it onto the market is USD $2,000,000,000?

then think of all the conferences youd be paid to attend and speak at

think of all the multi-million dollar government grants youd get

youd probably also win the Nobel Prize along the way

well all that money goes for research, you don't get to take the research money and go buy a yacht or something

and your entire life is going to be spent in a lab, and once you find a cure there will probably be a media tour, but then after the novelty wears off it's back to the lab for the next disease
with a few conferences and colleges to speak at and such, but you won't be living the life of a celebrity, that you all want

In the begining of my thread I said
"By the way the most amount of money you could make is lets say 50 million."
So whether your an athlete or the person that cure a disease, the most you can make is 50 mil, so money is set and there is a limit, nothing more and nothing less.

i wouldn't say nothing less, unless your changing the rules, as i read it in the first post there is a chance that you might not make the 50 million, but if you get there you can't go over

I appreciate that Tony! I think if I didn't know the man I'd say athlete easily. But he is a very interesting man to hang out with and insanely smart. Definitely fun to drink with.

Anytime brah, but seriously.
You should be blessed about your uncle brah, he's the one trying to save lives, Im only giving him the props for changing lives and you should be blessed to have someone like him in your life as a role model and an uncle.

Growing up when my dad saw me around certain friends it use to bother him, even thought my friends were good peps but it was the extra attention we use to draw to us, but my pops would always say to me, YOU HANG AROUND ISH YOU SMELL LIKE ISH, BUT IF YOU HAND AROUND ROSES YOU SMELL LIKE ROSES.
It didnt hit me until I got locked up for being in the wrong place with the wrong people at the wrong time, but after that I learned to keep to certain friends that I felt were distractions and problems at a distance, and I kept the good ones that had their head togehter at arms lenght.

OH BY THE WAY WHERE'S YOUR LAKERS SIG MANG???????????
