Sedale Threatt wrote:Hope I'm not speaking too soon, but games like tonight should be a great learning experience for Jordan. He needs to get it in his head that it's not all about shooting/scoring. You can still get in there and be solid. Run the team, don't get torched on D, keep your mistakes to a minimum. Just manage the game and let the action come to you. Well done.
That's what I've been preaching all along Sedale. Jordan had an excellent game. But I'm sure dcash will not budge off his assessment of him.

Looks like Earl Watson has fallen out of favor in OKC, would anybody here like him ? He is defensive minded. In reality with our salary constraints I know it can't happen, but man he fit the mode of what we need.

Just thought I'd throw in my two cents here... Coaching/management for OKC has said that they "know what Watson is capable of and want to see other guys". To me, knowing "what Watson is capable of", is screwing up any offensive rhythm the team has and causing losses and "other guys" is Chucky Atkins... You can draw your own conclusions, but it's not like they have the 4 young points that Memphis had and are trying to squeeze them in to limited minutes... they're opening up minutes for a guy that is in his mid 30s and shooting less than his age (%-wise) from the floor.

I love the Thunder... but I would hate to see Earl come in and screw up some great stuff that LA has going on.

Great win! Impressive first half IMO...like someone mentioned earlier the defense played definitely reminded me of the start of the season.

Good defense for the most part by our team.

Kobe was a little too aggressive in this game, didn't have to be.

I'd easily give Watson a shot. He's having the worst season of his career, which is somewhat understandable considering the circumstances. He'd be a better playmaker than Fish or Farmar, and it's not close.

What's better, a fast break J by Fish, or a guy who consistently gets the post man involved, as Watson had done in Memphis...with guess who? Pau Gasol. Not as good of a shooter as Fish, but he's much better than what he's shooting now in this lost season, and most importantly, he'd help our team's balance and chemistry more than Fish (one dimensional streak shooter) or Farmar (uptempo individual scoring guard).

I'm just saying... for being the one true veteran player (that is would actually be logging time on a decent team), he sure makes me cringe nearly every time he touches the ball. Not exactly something you'd expect, even from a backup point guard, on a championship level team!

I knew you would see the same qualities I see miles ! Also he'd at least finish at the rim better than the two guys we have.

If MLE is what we want to throw at Watson I feel there would be better options out there. He makes 6.6 mil per season and thats quite a lot considering Kobe can persuade Kidd to play here for like the same money.
