Lamar Odom - Mr. Consistent

Post#1 » by Tesla » Wed Apr 8, 2009 4:08 am

Over the past 10 games...

PER 36minutes (rounded)
15/10/3/1/1 on 51%FG, 44%3PT, 64%FT - 2to

-He has 5 double-doubles in the last 10 games

-He has scored in double figures 8 times in the last 10

-He has grabbed 9 or more rebounds in 8 of the last 10

-He has blocked at least 1 shot in 7 of the last 10 games

At first glance, those are basically numbers Lamar has put up his entire career (except the 3pt%), but he's doing it now as a complimentary piece, instead of as a 2nd option. Lamar is such a team player, all the things I've been disappointed with him in the past, I have totally put aside. Lamar has played great basketball, put team first, and been a great lockeroom guy. He should be a Laker for the rest of his career.

as a starter, lamar has pretty much been consistent since pau was traded to the lakers. that consistency includes putting the team first.

Lamar's been great since the Pau Gasol trade. He had a taste of the finals and he wants a ring and he knows he can get it and will get it this year with the lakers. His been playing as a great team player and once Bynum returns he will great off the bench with the second unit and still put his team first then himself. Lamar's been great since he got inserted into the starting line up. we can sign back for like 5 years 40mill and Ariza with 5 years 25mill or so.

odom is our x factor...if he can keep his play up to this level we will bring home the trophy this year.
Only on realgm is 27,000 points, 5 rings, 1 rs mvp and 2 finals mvp considered overrated!

I leave my opinion on Lamar until after the finals..

I guess last year was hard to forget for me...
Last years finals story was Lamar marries MIA..

Sometimes I think sitting on trains
Every stop I get to I'm clocking that game
Everyone's a winner, we're making our fame
Bonafide hustler making my name
All I wanna do (BANG BANG BANG BANG)
And a (CLICK CHING)
And take your money

Except Lamar got Hustled..

Lamar has been overall pretty consistent this year. I just hope he continues to be consistent when Bynum returns. Not his impressive stats, which will inevitably go down, but his effort and focus. He can really be the guy who revitalizes and re-stabilizes our anemic bench, which was among the league's best when he was on it.

I still think he should start just to retain chemistry and then remain with the second unit while Gasol rests.

No player has ever taken me on as many extremes of feelings as LO. At the beginning of the season I thought he was a stud, midway through the season I wanted him traded for a bag of peanuts and an SI swimsuit issue, and now he's back to being one of the best players on the court again. I think some of it has to do with renewed focus due to the PO's being so close and thus the title.

I just hope he continues this effort through the playoffs and we ultimately keep him because of it. I'd HATE to see him go (right now hehe).

Lamar is the gravy for this team. Assuming we get 27/20/15 ppg from 24/16/17 respectively, we will be in a position to win every night. Anything that LO gives us is a bonus, sugar on top if you will.

I truly love 7 as a Laker and hope he brings it in the post season. If he does, he can be the difference maker. The guy that is a beast on the boards that teams will not be able to account for. The guy who gets 12-14 garbage points...

Ultimately, his playoff performance will dictate if he stays a Laker or not. It is up to him.

If he goes back to the bench it will be something to watch. He's really been assertive offensively lately. If he does indeed come of the bench and gives us 13-15ppg it will help us greatly.

Never thought I'd see 'Lamar Odom' and 'consistent' used in the same sentence...

Hopefully he can keep it up once Bynum's presence puts him back on the bench

I think he'd really underrated. I posted something about him and Ben Wallace on the PC board a few days ago.

Here's the thread:
