I would like to punch ANYONE that calls Kobe the "Black Mamba."

First off it is a horrible nickname that has nothing to do with basketball or any play on his name or ability.
Second... You really shouldn't nickname yourself and expect it to stick or be accepted. That is why only Steve Smith and Laker fans use this nickname. (edit: also anyone who is out of touch with anything cool will try and use it... Bill Walton comes to mind, and any OLD sportscaster).

Third... Nobody ELSE is named "Kobe" that is any good at any sport or anything. Just call him "Kobe" and instantly everyone knows who the hell you are talking about. He doesn't need to give himself a stupid nickname.

It's known for being very aggressive when disturbed or confronted and will not hesitate to strike with deadly precision= KB24. I'd say that's pretty damn accurate and has a lot to do with the way he plays, and his ability.

If you have a problem with Kobe being called black I guess that's another issue. I like the nickname myself.
