It looked like a foul to me. Kobe saw Nelson coming and knew he was coming. It reminded me of Derek Fisher's elbow to Luis Scola to a much lesser extent. You can tell that there was contact in the replay. Why didn't the refs call it? They probably thought he was flopping over, kinda how Kobe hit Bibby in 2002 Conference finals. No foul there.

I agree though the Magic lost the game, but the Lakers did not earn that win if there are missed calls. I mean Kobe pulled Dwight Howard down by his arm even after the foul was called, no call there. Lots of no calls/phantom calls tonight. One night we are all going to watch a game and be like "Wow the refs did a very good job." Not within the next decade though, its either all fixed or the NBA refs just suck.

I don't think it was a foul. Nelson was practically in Kobe's shorts. He has to give him some room to move his arms.

How many techs have u seen being called in the finals.. Kobe just didnt want Dwight to get an and1..

Was a good foul and a good no call on that one..

and the Nelson play i think nelson was playing too aggressive.. I think it was a clear foul by Jameer, non call helped the Lakers.. what surprises me is how Marc Jackson and the Kobe hater Charles Barkley are calling it offensive foul..

it wasn't intentional... but the refs could have called it either way with the whistle blowing left and right all game long. I mean for the first half i actually thought it was the The Refs vs. The Lakers.

I think the refs saw that kobe wasn't doing intentionally and plus jameer was right under him. Good job from the refs for letting him actually play. Fisher was clutch

I initially thought it was a foul but the refs let it go (I mean are you seriously going to make that call?)... but after looking at the videos I've changed my mind. Kobe's arms and elbows were already up and it looked like he was gonig to pass it when Nelson ran into his space.

It's like if I swing my arms backwards and hit someone in the same motion... they usually wouldn't call that.

It was a good call since technically you have to give the offensive player enough room to move, you cant go running your entire body and face in the opposing player and not allowing him to move his body and or his arms.

that was a foul on nelson, he jammed his face into kobes elbow. I dont know whats more annoying, sasha crying about a foul he committed 80ft way from the hoop or nelson exposing his mouth piece.

It should have been called, if you look at it as a separate play, but you can't do that. All in all, that turned out to be a good no-call, in my opinion. It could be argued that he ran into Kobe, and it could be argued that Kobe elbowed him.

Referees compensate over the course of a game whether they admit to it or not. Lots of ticky-tack fouls were called in the other direction throughout the entire game, plus, at such a crucial part of a finals game, the refs usually try to let the players decide the outcome.

However, had the jerseys been swapped on that play, I think this entire board would have definitely wanted the offensive foul call...

It's a foul call in the first 40 minutes of the game, 50/50 on whether they call offensive or block.
But down the stretch in the 4th and in OT, that's a whistle swallower.

I don't think it was an offensive foul. If you double down that hard.. and that close, then elbows are going to happen, especially when Kobe was making that type of a pass. Especially down the stretch of a game, more often than not, it's not going to get called.

It's NBA officiating at it's finest; where you-never-know happens.

It's a physical play. It was incidental.
