I agree with you doozyj, don't even let Rambis get a sniff. I loved him as a player but as a coach he lacks communication skills big time.

it better be someone good, i was hoping Coach K could be our coach in 2010-2011 season and so on, but he crushed my dreams

i thought someone asked this question already in the recent weeks.. this might get combined with that one.

anyways... i would thinkg rambis since he's the next runner up, but since byron scott is available as well; he might be a good fit for us.
For some reason coach k doesn't want to coach the lakers or something... but he keeps on denying it. Besides i don't like his coaching style anyways. I saw his coaching during the olympics and didn't like his subtitution techniques.

Jackson's substitution techniques often time border on the bizarre...but can't argue with all that success.

Even if Coach K was interested, not sure he would enjoy the NBA or how successful he would be, despite being a great basketball coach.

If Phil would step down now, I like Pat Riley as a possible substitute and using the MLE on Jason Kidd and bring back a little Showtime to Staples.

However, that may be a remote possibility. I like Byron Scott next. He has Laker pedigree. Scott has played for Riley and Larry Brown, two of the best coaches of all time, and he has been successful as a head coach, taking the New Jersey Nets to The Finals.

He would coach in your face D and get out and run when possible. Offensively, he would also feed the post and try to jump start Andrew Bynum's potential dominance of the NBA. Scott would also likely utilize a motion offense in the half court set which might actually get more production from Lamar Odom.

Kurt Rambis and Brian Shaw are both good candidates and I have one sleeper:

Michael Cooper.
