Lakers interested in grant hill?

Post#1 » by Iamabeasttt » Wed Jul 1, 2009 11:22 pm

Washington Examiner: He’s 37, but played every game this past season. The choice is this: stay with Phoenix or go to a contender, such as Boston or the Lakers. “Both are desperately trying to get him,” said the source.

Any aging veteran looking for a ring is going to come up in rumors to LA, Boston, Orlando, Cleveland, and San Antone for the next couple weeks.
Thank you, Phil.

why would he return to the suns a team in transition? the suns need a new owner, that owner doesn't have the money to be a successful team. only way he's winning a title is if it falls in his lap liek DEN almost did young guys b4 they make they are due their big contracts.

Its home to him, he loves Suns medical staff, Nash and Gentry. He said it was his last stop and his wife doesn't want him leaving.

so sad this is a reason he'd like to stay with the suns. it would have been awesome to see what a career from a healthy grant hill would have been like.

Grant Hill would be a perfect fit at the 3 for the Lakers...I would pursue Hill or Kidd...

A healthy, able Grant Hill is perfect for the triangle. People throw that phrase around a lot, but in Grant Hill's case, it's true. Can handle, pass, shoot, drive...very high bball IQ.

For the right price, he'd be a tremendous addition - and fill a role this team lacks: another playmaking perimeter player aside from Kobe.

He can keep his butt in Phoenix, did you guys forget that he dissed Phil and the Lakers two years ago. He didn't even bother to return Phil's call..............the best coach of all time and he didn't return his call. Hill can rot in the desert along with that losing, soon to be lottery team from here on out.

If we can get him at the vet min than I say yes. Of coarse that is after signing Ariza & Odom. Hill would be a great asset to the bench. I feel bad for him. His ankle ruined his career. Without those ankle problems he would have went down as one of the top 10 players to play the game and him and T-Mac would have either went to the finals or won at least one ring together.

Exactly.

In several ways, Hill is an upgrade over Ariza as well. I'm guessing Hill wants a shot at a championship. LA would clearly give him that chance.

Because of all the time he missed due to injury, he has younger legs than his age would imply.

I like Grant, he's a nice guy... But way too many blown layups and TO's for us last year, take him

Deep, respect man, but that's business man, Grant is a high character guy one of my favorite guys ever.

He'd be a liability on defense, this sucks. Ariza is near pure gold, and we are letting him walk. Phil must just love Lamar and is going to give it one more shot with Lamar for a title and ride off into the sunset.

If I'm the Lakers I'm definately pushing for Grant he'd be an extremely affordable producing piece to you guys.

Like wise with me too Dub, but at this point in Hill's career he's washed up. So was it business or personal when he decided not to call Phil back ? Never bothered to returned his call, that said a lot about his character to me........it ain't all Windex bro.

I get what business is and what disrespect is. See some times in life people don't want to make it seem like they're dependent on a person or situation. Bottom line is this and Grant knows this, but if he had came here and won as the Lakers did last month Hill would've been just 1/12th of the reason. But signing with the Suns like he did he knew he would be a factor in their scheme and he would've gotten self fulfillment. Wouldn't have been that way here.
