Great running mate
dont make stupid fouls and never complains to the officicals
great slasher
goods hands
adequate handles
improved 3p shooter
disrupts passing lanes
efficient on gambling steals
above avg defender
big time hustler
most importantly! hes one of those guys you that demand the ball to be effective, great contributor off the ball upon trash plays
devastating finisher

his cons:

poor ft%
cannot create a decent look off the dribble with defender in his face unless its a pump fake 3p attempt.
has no post up game
not known for passing
no ability to create others as well for himself

other than that, he will be missed :(

Bottom line, Phil Jackson always turns out average players into studs IE BJ Armstrong, Craig Hodges, Horce Grant, Steve Kerr, Derik Fisher, and so on. They get traded and eithier sit on the bench or just become average players. The triangle provides excellent 1 on 1 play, excellent spacing and good post play. All skills that Ron Ron posses. Keep in mind the lakers had to work with Trevor on these issue's including his shooting (Craig Hodges).Hopefully Trevor can adapt to a new system only time will tell.

Kobay wrote:He 90% of the time has positive impact on the team. Great defender in the lane, can't defend bigger and stronger SFs. Shot the ball well from the three in the playoffs. He is really young. Only thing you have to worry is him turning into those contract year players like Minhee's ex-BF Sasha, who also gave her claps and was gay.

You always have to worry about that but hopefully because he is so young and improved every year he won't be one of thise guys.

Don't forget that Ariza still ha a partial fracture in his left foot that has never been completely healed and will always be ab issue... Hate to see him go but Artest for less (years and money) is a high risk high reard situation and with PJ & Kobe, we will be fine...

love Ariza, hate his agent.. What i dont understand is that he was saying he was sad LA only offered him 5.6 mil and etc but then he went to you houston guys for 5.8mil.. huh? so you rather leave the current Champion and a contender to repeat for 200,000 dollars? no offense to houston but I question that logic. but then his agent had the nerve to say its not about the money.

I love Ron Ron, I'm Glad LA got him. To bad for Ariza Though. Like others said. Once U leave the Triangle your dead. Its like the Opposite of the Bermuda. lol

Ariza = Devon George, Smush Parker, Simaki Walker, Slava and all other lakers role players that got pay dirt because of getting and making open shots on Champion ship teams then turned busts..

The Rocket has just crash landed..

I can wait to see the turn of events , plus the faces of Ariza and David Lee after 2-3 years..

Best trade ever i should say.. gave up scraps for meat...

LOGIC dictates that you can ONLY say

"It is NOT about the Money"

when you sign somewhere else for LESS money (like what Artest did)

If you sign somewhere is for MORE money,

then it IS all about the money, duh

LOL .....David Lee (Roth)

Our expectations for Ariza are to be a coachable, glue-guy person in the future. Someone in the caliber of Shane Battier, not exactly him, but a staple in our lineup regardless of opponent. Someone that'll play real good defense, hit the open shot, and use his athleticism to help be a finisher/passing lane defender/rebounder.

Is that what we got?

This upcoming season I feel we are tanking, in the the 2010 off-season we'll have a high pick, Yao coming back, and cap room to sign 1 max player, 1 10-12mil player with Brooks, Lowry, Scola, Landry, Ariza, and Yao still on the books.

He's starting next to Battier.
