Did you not comprehend the topic ? It was meant to name a turning point for the playoffs not the season.Akiho wrote:imo, none of moments defined the lakers
imo the 6-game roadie we went 6-0 taking out boston and cleveland back to back without bynum defined us as a championship team

Kobe just summed up the intent of the team for the season. No matter what happens or who goes down, we're not being stopped this season.
That play can be viewed in a million different angles physically and mentally but it was a team leader coming out and sacrificing himself to deliver a message. We're not the ones you want to mess with.
This same play effectively saved our season twice. Thank You Trev!
LO's slam on Birdman following Shannon's posterization. I think that effectively sucked the air out of Denver's challenge.
This one just sealed the deal imo. The final nail in the coffin.
Wow.
Great stuff.
I can never get tired of those images.
Awesome!

Probably both but I do remember moments against Denver & Orlando where I was saying man I'm glake Kobe is scoring at will or we would be in trouble.
Yeah he had his moments but if he had made that 3 pointer to win game 3 at Orlando, that would've been a memory. He simply didn't make the buzzer beater that you'd remember for a long time.

^^ To show you how right you are, I don't even remember him taking that 3!
& I certainly can't remember him hitting 1 in a long time.

Re: What was the turning point?
Derek Fisher play was awesome but it wasn't the turning point. It didn't get the point through because the Rockets still played against us pretty well.
The 2nd half of Game 5 vs Denver was the changing point. After that we pretty much played great.

Regular Season:
1. Lakers road trip beating Cleveland and Boston on their courts without Bynum
Playoffs:
2. Derek Fisher hitting Scola. Which sent a message to the Rockettes and the league that "bully ball" and pushing us around won't work this year.
Yep & it also showed that bully crap wont work on us ever again!!
