What I find interesting, what pundits seem to ignore is we were a contender with Ariza hardly contributing.

Trevor only started 20 games for us during the regular season. Look at his game logs. There were some days when he'd go off for double digits, even as high as 26, whereas he has many games where he'd drop a 0 or 4 or 6 points. We didn't need him to contribute consistently to win. Artest is in another league than Ariza (and that's only talking offense).

Our biggest weaknesses have always been PG and SF. Well now we have a top 20 talent at SF.

People are underestimating what's coming their way.

I think it makes sense he's near the top of both lists. Right now we're coming off a championship, so there's a lot more room to fall than to climb.

Like semi-sentient said, it will all be fine if he accepts that he's the 3rd option on this team and we're looking for more of a defensive stopper/enforcer than scorer. I'm prepared to hear a whole bunch of nonsense for the next couple years but that's the one thing that has to be consistent with Artest.

Also, I don't think there's anything wrong with the negative things writers and other fans are saying about Artest on the Lakers because in all honesty, if Artest had signed with Cleveland instead of us we'd probably be saying the exact same thing.
