It's not even close in my mind...

Magic
West
Kareem
Wilt
Shaq
Kobe
Mikan

Magic was instramental in the birth of the modern era of the NBA along with Bird and Kareem...

The rest of my list is self-explanetory, and I put Shaq in front of Kobe because his coming to LA was huge and reestablished LA as a dominant force in LA.... If we repeat 2 more times, Kobe moves above Shaq and maybe even Wilt... If we repeat this year, it's a tie with Kobe having the edge.

But that's just one guys opinion... Magic is my favorite sports figure of all time next to Cassius Clay... So I'm a bit biased... 8-)

Kobe doesn't make my list :)

Of course, he's 7th

How is it possible to have Mikan that low? Not only do I think he should be 1st on the list, I think he should be on his own tier even.

Mikan isn't only the most important player in Lakers history, he might be the most important player in league history. He's the single player that has shaped the rules the most to make the game look like it was today. The shot clock for instance was invented to prevent Mikan from completely dominating the game and he was the guy who originally put basketball on the map.

For those still not recognizing what tbk is trying to get across, absorb this history lesson. Did you guys even know that Mikan WOULD'VE NEVER been a Laker if their 1st GM a guy by the name of Sid Hartman hadn't made Mikan miss his flight out of Minnesota ?

Do you guys get it........a missed plane flight is the very reason the man ever played for the Lakers.

3. Martin
4. Pollard
5. Kundla
6. Hartman

Happy now fellas.

I think some of you guys are missing the point. You can't build a house without the foundation. Bottom line is this.... the Lakers never become the Lakers without Mikan.

Kobe
Shaq-Kobe
Magic-Kareem
Kareem
J.West-Goodrich
J.West-Baylor-Chamberlain
J.West-Baylor
Baylor
Mikan

As you can see it's from the bottom up on how this franchise stands up.
