you do realize that just because Battier plays good defense on him doesn't mean Kobe doesn't burn him. in my recolection Battier has had only one game where he actually stopped Kobe. the rest of the games Kobe gets the best of him. I think Bell and Bowen have more games than Battier of actually stopping Kobe. with that said imo Battier plays Kobe better than Bell, but not Bowen.

btw, just noticed a pattern that Bryants real nemises names begin with a B. weird!

That's true actually. it happened once, and everyone thought he was a great defensive guy. He is, but it could've just been Kobe having a bad night. I still give credit though, he's a great competitor and makes Kobe work for his shot. It was probably at its best in the Houston series when Yao, Artest, and Battier were there to stop Kobe.

Ya that was a lucky hit and the wrong time though, you got to admit that. But think about how many people Bo lit up before someone got him, its amazing. Specially the way he ended Brian Boz's career with just one hit.

Kilroy wrote:Bo was unstoppable... Deon was uncatchable...

Bo was a freak of nature... He hit people harder than they hit him... And he could swing a bat too...

Another O.G triple O.G hard hitter was Ronnie Lott........... NOW THATS A STOPPER.

Its not really much of a list considering 1 guys out of the league, 1 guy just retired, another guy is Kobe's teammate and another guy is PF/C. That leaves Jones, Bell, Posey, and Battier and out of those guys 2 are older then Kobe. Battier is probably Kobe's toughest matchup.

You can't stop Kobe.
You can only wish to contain him
The players listed don't come close to being Kobe Stoppers,
Artest and Battier are great sound togh defenders, but Kobe stoppers? Please....

I think Tayshaun Prince is also a very good defender against Kobe. Long lanky players do give Kobe a hard time, but no one can stop him.

Tay is one of my favorite defensive players.

He can give perimeter guards a lot of trouble.

He's slowed down a bit recently... especially since he said D-Wade is a better offensive player than Kobe or something of that nature back in 07.

Anyhow, I'd love to see him as a Laker this season.

The Pistons don't have it all together and they'll struggle to make the playoffs w/o Billups, Big Ben, and Sheed.

Not to mention Hamilton fighting Gordon for minutes.

Or is it Stucky fighting Hamilton/Gordon for minutes.

Boy is AI glad he's not there anymore.

They were doing well with him running the show but they wanted Stucky to be the star he hasn't shown himself to be.

Shaq sure squashed him like a bug going into a Diesel Truck driving by the fly going 100 miles an hour on the freeway.

Uh oh, I'm making enemies!

Good luck on the Lebron sweepstakes, Mr. Dumars.

  You know what Im saying Snaq???
They throw that term around............. STOPPER....... like these clowns have really stopped Kobe in the past. Kobe tourched every single player on that list including Shanna Battier. How the **** do you give someone credit like that when he cant and he wont and he WILL never be able to STOP Kobe.

If this whole Kobe STOPPER term was realistic then you know how many tickets Kobe wouldve gotten if he was actually driving through these so called STOPPERS. Its like Kobes running stop lights, stop signs and red lights while running over every single one of these clowns. Hell he should be in jail for multiple violations in every game.

These guys arent Kobe STOPPERS. These clowns are only YILED SIGNS, SPEED BUMPS and POT HOLES on the way to the basket. ENOUGH ALREADY WITH THE KOBE STOPPERS BULL.

Can't stop the unstoppable / it's impossible / mission failure / uncrossable obstacle. (Repeat 4x)

Kobe hasn't burned Battier consistently like he did Bowen, Artest and Bell in a series. Battier makes sure Kobe stays near his averages (0.450) or below most of the time but I do agree that no one has had a comprehensively good record against Kobe, which makes the "Stopper" idea seem irrelevant.

game 1 14 points
game 2 32 points
game 3 26 points
game 4 15 points
game 5 33 points
game 6 40 points
game 7 32 points

Kobes average in that series was 27 and change. regular season average 26 and change,
