All Access Kobe Interview Questions

Post#1 » by Mamba Venom » Mon Sep 7, 2009 6:43 am

Kobe is going to do an interview with a fan in this upcoming season. What questions would make this interview one of the best ever? What do you want to know about Kobe?

Who was your favorite teammate for each year of your career?

Are you a LLCoolJ fan (why do you always lick your lips?)

What year did you feel like you became an NBA vet?

When do you think the competition in the NBA is going to be toughest, in the 90's, the 2000s pr the 10's?

What is the favorite thing you have bought w/ your NBA millions?

What does Kobe do to get away from it all? Whats the perfect vacation?

Would you be willing to write out your workout so other players can follow it or is it privileged information?

List your all-time favorite Laker team. Starting 5 and back ups.

Could you beet Jordan 1 on 1 in 1998?

Could you beat a center like Dwight 1 on 1? How would you keep him out of the post?

What skill is your weakest on the court, what skill is your best?

What year was the most difficult of your career, what year was the easiest? What were those years like?

What is the black mamba afraid of?

Are you planning on having anymore kids (maybe a boy so there can be a 3rd generation Bryant in the NBA)?

Do you want to get anymore tats and what of?

Would 7 championships today be more impressive than 11 in the 60s when there were just a few teams and before the NBA was international?

What is your favorite Shaq story? Phil story? Magic story? Michael Jackson story? Jordan story? who have I missed?

in Phil's book, he said that D George was probably the 2nd best all around athlete behind Kobe on the team.

Kobe being uncoachable is pretty inaccurate. The media just took that and ran with it.

The insight Phil has is amazing and it's not just about the drama of 04 Lakers. He talks alot about the Xs and Os, and the small details that make a team win. It's probably not as insightful as his past books, but it's still very good. Kobe was given alot of playmaking roles during those times, and he was hardly uncoachable. All I saw was a young, immature teenager who had some problems. Phil managed it pretty well. The media could've talked about how hard Gary Payton was to coach or teach the triangle to and make that a huge ass thing. Phil takes plenty of times to compliment Kobe in that book. Ultimately, while it is very interesting, I choose to put that season far back in my head because of the ending. The newer version of the book contains an epilogue or several chapters at the end that talk about what went on, and Phil's decision to come back.

I would suggest people to read it as long as they are willing to understand that Kobe is human, and like many of us, we make our mistakes.

The book has also made me realize that we will probably miss Kurt Rambis on the coaching staff for a bit, and Phil Jackson is near irreplaceable at the head coaching position. It has also made me appreciate Rick Fox and Horry alot more.

And finally, I think there is little chance the Spurs could beat the Lakers this year, and for years to come. I think Phil knows the Spurs really well, and knows how to beat them. When the book gets to the series with the Spurs, then the .4 shot, it really was a beautiful series for the Lakers.

And Shaq and Kobe cannot get along. Not then, not now. Winning can tame it a bit, but it simply does not work. Each of them are responsible, it's not Kobe's fault.

Sorry, I know it's been off topic.

Do you regret being so reserved with teammates/opponents earlier in your career? Considering you've been more open recently.

Favorite championship celebration memory.
Thank you, Phil.

26 questions?

I guess you're gonna get your Lois Lane on and ask him yourself b/c I don't see a link the "All Access Kobe Interview Questions" you stated in the OP.

You brought up some good questions..

But what prompted the Michael Jackson shoutout?

I would love to ask him if he prefers team success or individual success?

And if he said he preferred team success I would ask him would you take 7 championships as second fiddle to Shaq or 4 championships as the top dog?

I'll save you some time and give you an answer he would probably agree with:

Both.

He'd like to have his cake and eat it too.

But 13 championships as a first/second/third offensive fiddle wouldn't be bad either, now would it?

Yeah fair enough point.. Too bad I couldn't have an interview with Horry and ask him would he give up all or any of his 7 championships for a greater level of individual success? Not saying he wasn't a decent player but I'm talking the level of Magic, Jordan etc

F'k Green. (not literally)

7 Championships? Are you kidding me?

Rob's a legendary "role player"... he can have a choice of being Dirk or Rob, who would he choose.

Hm.

More groupie loving or more championship trophies...

From my point of view, being a better individual player only means more love during your prime... then you're back where you started emotionally.

Championships last like good wine.

Dirk though? I am thinking along the lines of Malone, Stockton, Barkley, Kidd, Ewing!

I personally think some players would prefer to have had those careers than have won 7 championships. Im with you in that I too believe that you have your championship forever whereas your career gradually fades but still the feeling of knowing you were one of the best to play the game may be a better feeling to some? Me.. I will never know will I!

Would be nice to ask Stockton at his HOF induction would he trade his career for 7 championships as a role player...

Good call.

Stockton? OF course he'd stay himself and be real.

But he would probably take a backseat to a stud superstar PG if it meant he could stay in Utah and win his first championship. ;)

If you're relatively healthy, and under 25 it's never too late.

Unless you're 6 foot and under... b/c then it would be a huge uphill battle.
