OK were about 2 weeks away from the opening of training camps across the league. Some teams are ready to roll with no major problems or distractions that could doom them. While others have potential C4 waiting to blow their whole season apart.
I'm going to list some teams with potential disasters lying in wait for them, or you can list your own if you have any. Then let's assess the situations.
1.Utah Jazz- The Boozer situation, he's repeatedly ran to the media all summer with his request to be traded. Recently Derron Williams made his comments on the matter. Sounding as if he won't care if Boozer is gone, but would still play with him if need be. Remember a unhappy player is a mad player.
2. Golden St. Warriors- Stephen Jackson's escape request, just out the blue while in New York he says he doesn't think he'll be in the Bay area much longer. Gunz is smart, he's seen this team rot before his eyes. No BD, Barnes or Harrington from that magical playoff run when they treated the Mavs like rag dolls. And to make matters worse, the league find him for stating his displeasure publicly. Didn't Kobe do the same damn thing 2 years ago.........while under contract like Jackson ?
Another mad man on the loose.
3.Denver Nuggets - This is a reach but did anybody else get the feeling their season ended with the brewing of a Karl/ Chauncey feud festering ? In Karl's closing speech he mentions all the guys that the Denver media should write good stories about. But he failed to mention Smooth, Billups was the sole reason for the run in the first place. An knowing Karl like I do, everything he touches eventually turns to dust. But again I could be way off on this so we'll see what's up.
4. Miami Heat -Dwayne Wade's future, boy how things turn around, it was only a short time ago that board member here was scrapping with Heat board members on a daily basis. I know because I had my battles there. Anyway Wade hasn't committed to the Heat and he want's to see the team improve real quick. Now with Beasley needing help for drug use and no major free agent pick up on top of the fact Wade buys a spot in Chicago.......things look bleak in South Beach. I'm sorry but I gotta do this......I told them on their board that they'd be done in 4 or 5 years after the "Trade".
OK family post what you think.

I think any team with a possible super star free agent has possible big distractions ahead if the team doesn't come strong and playing well. Crabs, Bosh, Amare, Wade, etc. So I'm going with Miami. Yes, yes. If they fail to come out winning, staying around the five hundred mark I think, I get the hunch the media is only going to blow up the whole "Wade to Chicago?" headlines to further heights. Golden State doesn't have much to lose. They aren't expected to contend even for a playoff birth, so in the case any distractions occur there, I doubt it gets blown and becomes a dramatic situation. And ya know, I didn't know losers could be distracted, either. Hmmmm.

Cavs all the way
They will thrive until the circus starts in the play-offs. When the Cavs face elimination "Could this be your last game as a Cav?" Mo Williams will guarantee the win and Shaq will talk trash about Dwight, a coach, or a Celtic or ??? who knows.
It will be entertaining.
The Nugs will crash when Chauncey falls off on a few seasons
The Mavs will be contending #3
THe Spurs and Lakers will have some epic battles
The Heat will remind us all of the Lakers back in 2006.

Lakers are 22-3 in OT last 6 seasons:Kobe best OT closer!

ESPN will shove Lebron and the Cavs and Shaq down our throats. Many of us will get sick of it. Remember how good we were last season? We went by quietly and just won games to me. Looked good too, it was all business. The only issue we had was spotty defense and giving up leads. But that's old news. 2010/Cavs will just be all this year is about.
Enligh-Mamba Venom is right.
I'm also wondering about the Celtics KG situation and Rondo. I also wonder how interesting Dallas could go this year.

There isn't any team in the West that's not top tier that can just flat out claim the 8th seed, so to a degree the Warriors are in the picture. The Jackson situation is a distraction because he'll have to answer to the media on media day on the opening of camp. Anytime a player voices his displeasure it's a distraction no matter weather the team is a contender or pretender.Optms wrote:I think any team with a possible super star free agent has possible big distractions ahead if the team doesn't come strong and playing well.
