Threats:
San Antonio
Mavs (sleeper) added Marion + Gooden

Outcome:
Lakers win unless an injury occurs
Lakers are 22-3 in OT last 6 seasons:Kobe best OT closer!

lol Dallas? they could barely beat us when all we had was Kobe & scrubs. Now we have Kobe, Gasol, Odom, Artest, Bynum, etc etc, upgrades in basically everywhere on the roster!

Kidd > Fisher
Kobe >>>>>>>>> anyone
Artest > Howard
Gasol < Dirk
Bynum > Dampier

Odom = Marion

Lakers >>> Dallas

I don't see the upset. Maybe the Portland Trailblazers have a good case. Mavs? I don't think so.

ahhhh memories :-) and about a month later, we were graced with 81. Some of you know i was at both games.

My rare post on here. I mostly just read and have been enjoying doing it for quite some time now.

Sad thing about that game was that if Dallas was actually competative, Kobe could have easily had a 70+ game and maybe another 80+...

Dallas will be a decent team, and I kind of agree with the guy that said they should be better then the Nuggets. They might be, but Denver plays good D now and has more younger athletes overall. I expect Dallas to be very good, Terry and Dirk are nearly as consistent as they come and Kidd with new improved shot and now with more offensive options should be able to keep them in the hunt. But it comes down to a couple thins that have been their weakness for the last 4 or 5 years and they still have yet to address.

They are soft. They don't play good D.

Simple as that. Dampier is a horribe center option and while Gooden will provide more offense at that position, he's a worse defender then Damp. Dirk's D is weak, Howard is ok but not great, terry isn't a great defender, and Kidd who used to be, can't stay in front of anyone quick.

We match up with them so much better then they match up with us. Dirk has struggled against us lately because Lamar defends him as well as anyone and Pau does as well, add into that Artest and he will have a long night. Marion has always struggled against Lamar and both he and Pau will abuse him in the post when he is in at the 4. If Dirk has to guard Bynum down low he's going to get pushed around and get in foul trouble and expend energy.

Terry has been our biggest problem but with Artest and Kobe on the floor Kobe can concentrate much mroe on him and Fish/Brown play Kidd pretty well. Kidd is not the quick PG that causes us trouble. I just don't fear this team because as talented as they are, they cannot stop us from scoring and we Can stop them. The Spurs imo pose a much more legitamte defensive and offenseive threat, the Blazers pose a more defensive threat, and Utah a much more difficult offensive threat because of DWill and their spacing.

Dirk Diggler better than Pau Gasoi

Marion equal to Artest

Jason Kidd better than Derek Fisher

Then you have a bench of Tim Thomas, Drew Gooden, etc. giving the Lakeshow a tough battle on paper.

Your delusional.

If you really think about it, the Mavs have more potential to upset the Lakers than pretty much asnyone else out west.

Why are we even talking about the playoffs, the Lakers haven't even played a preseason game.
