Seriously, what's wrong with this guy? He doesn't even play heavy minutes and he still manages to get injured constantly. I happen to like what Luke brings to the team but this is ridiculous.

He's a weak little itch, just like his dad was. He rides the gravy train until there is no more gravy on the train.

He may have physical issues but he isn't a 'itch'...

Did you see him getting his pinky popped back in place against Denver? Didn't even leave the game... Barely left the floor...
And having had a pinched nerve in my back, I can tell you it messes you up...
When it happened to me, I hit the floor and couldn't move... I actually had no idea how I was ever going to get up again... 8-)

That being said, 2 days of muscle relaxers later, I was back to about 100%...

His dad, Bill, has a legit degenerative disease and I feel pretty positive that Luke shares that disease. I'm not saying he's a puss, or he's injury prone. I'm saying he has a medical condition that will end his career early and never let him play much of a season.

Brah Im no hero and Im the last guy that gives a hoot about Luke or his pinky being dislocated.

In 89 when I was stationed in Germany and I was a driver on my M1 tank during Reforgery one of the biggest gunneries and Armor assembled since WW2. My tank crashed into a huge ditch, I ended up with a broken nose and broken cheek bone and a shatered eye socket. It was around negative 5 *C freezing cold snowing with a broken 1 ton track ripped from my tank. Blood gushing out of nose but since it was so cold my face was numb and my blood froze in my nose. Didnt feel any pain or anything whatsoever. Got out and changed the track which took well over an hour and half. Finished our mission and then six hours later I was air vaced to 7th Medical Command in Frankfurt where I found out how bad I was injured. ALL THAT for a 700 dollars a month serving my country.

So when Luke dislocates his pinky or has a pinched nerve or has diarrhea isnt really a valid excuse. We just have to add this to the long list of injuries he always comes up with. So to me it means nothing. The guy is constantly injured and he is always out with some sort of an excuse. Tell me something how long has Kobe been playing with his dislocated pinky?

It's a good thing we gave him that long ass contract then. I feel bad for the guy and all, but if that's the case then we are throwing money away. If he has the same condition that his father had then our medical staff should have known about it.

It's like my company giving me a guaranteed 5-year salary as a programmer knowing that my hands are rotting away. That would be downright irresponsible.

It's sad how much they used to pay us veterans back in the day. I joined up 1992 and I think I averaged about $7 an hour for my service (we worked a ton of OT). I actually made considerably more money delivering Pizza on my off-duty hours.

Of course I sat in front of a computer (we used to joke that we were "chAir Force") billing NATO contracts, so our situations are quite different... lol.

It's apples and oranges...

You're average work-a-day joe works through more pain that just about any professional athelete is asked to deal with... Other than say your Ben Rothlesburger's of the world...

And I agree, almost all of them are a bunch of whiney bitches...

But if you compare apples to apples, ask yourself how long D-Wade would be out with a dislocated pinky... Or how long Paul Pierce would be out with a pinched nerve in their back...

Use your own example... Kobe is 'the MAN' to a lot of people for playing through a dislocated pinky.... Well Luke Walton just did the same thing...

My point is, in the realm of professional basketball players, Walton isn't a wimp... He does seem to get hurt a lot... Which I think happens to a guy with the right skill but out of his league as far as athletecism goes...

And I agree with those that say his loss will be felt more than most expect... At least until Gasol comes back... Then I think Odom moves to the bench and takes some of his minutes...

LOLLLLL Ya I wish I could say that.

I was a loader, driver, gunner on the M1A2 tanks, I served 4 years 7 months at Ft Knox and the rest in Germany. I was out in the field basically 250+ days out of a year doing everything form gunnery to field excercise which included border surveillance of East Germany, Czechoslovakia as well as 1 tour of the Berlin wall at check point charlie I actually got there right before it came down. In fact I was there a few days before the wall came down.

I actually relaly like Luke. He isn't the most talented guy on the team but I notice a pretty good +/- for him while he's on the court. Bummer =/
