once he starts doing that, watch out all-nba team.

i thought he was doing a pretty good job of it last year preinjury. not saying he was an amazing passer but it thought he had a better feel for where his teammates were & were going to be. maybe it's a lack of confidence in his reads :dontknow:

I think it is due the fact that he hasn't played much organized ball before coming into the NBA. HIgh school basketball only teaches you so much and you already have the pressure to impress scouts and outplay recruits in the limited 30 or so games you have there.

Passing and finding cutters is more due to instinct for the game and knowing what the other wingmen would do when you have the ball in the post. It'll come to him with Kobe getting into his ear now and then or he can work on it with help from Kareem.

yeah, i agree with a lot of what you said. i'm not saying he should already possess the ability to pass from the double, im just saying thats his next step. thats what separates his post presence from pau's. he has plenty of time to get it down.

last yr he was never getting doubled as soon as he got the ball. this is a little different.

I can't wait to see this team fire on all cylinders.

I love how all the Free agency stuff is over and I can't wait for all the old vets that deserve a ring to come over for the minimum. I think Shaq is going to come knocking on the Lakers door this off-season as well as a vet pg.

Bynum vs. Shaq on Christmas ohh ya

That's right on the money. I remember one game where they should have bailed him out with a foul, he had 3 guys around him with no where to turn & he tried to spin move back & plowed somebody right over for the offensive foul   I think it was one of those games where he went bazerk in the 1st half & they wouldn't get it to him in the 2nd so he just said to hell wit it!!!

I think he has the skills to pass the ball... I just don't think he's developed the feel for the game yet to react quickly to what's going on and get the ball where it needs to go...

It goes back to my comment about Gasol making Bynum look like he's forcing everything... After thinking more about it, I think that feeling comes from the fact that Gasol just instinctively knows where to dish the ball at this point and Bynum isn't quite there yet... He 'thinks' about where the ball needs to go and by the time he decides, that avenue has closed...

Professional basketball today is a game of split-second reactions. Make the right reactions, and the game flows and looks easy for you, fail to react or make the wrong reactions and everything grinds to a halt.

That just comes with experience though... He just needs to spend some more time on the court and get a better feel for the game... Then, he'll have more confidense in his decisions and be able to move the ball in the flow of the game... Instead of stopping the flow with a decision process...

I think he's just afraid to make the wrong decision.

A lot of that comes down to pure instincts. Some guys have a natural feel for the game, some guys don't. Pau is one. I always felt Shaq and Olajuwon were instinctive passers, whereas guys like Ewing or Mourning were pretty terrible.

I haven't seen much from Andrew in this regard, or as a shot blocker (most of which he gets because he's so long and tall). Both of those could certainly improve with time, but it's never a guarantee. Look at Moses Malone, who played until he was 39 and was sub-par to poor in both areas.

What Andrew does do well is score the ball; he just has a natural gift for it. He's a also dominant rebounder when he wants to be. Those are great qualities to have as a starting center, especially one so young.

ESPN, Fox Sports & Yahoo are hating on Bynum in the stats department.

Go to ESPN, then clip NBA, then stats.

You should see an accurate top 5 of every player. Bynum should be on the list w/ his 11.2 rebs, 19.9 ppg, and 1.7 bpg. Bynum is the ONLY player I can think of not on the stats page. He is on fg%. When you click on complete leaders, it just skips right over Drew.

Whats up with that ESPN, FoxSports & Yahoo. Do all you guys use the same stats engine? There are guys on their that have played less games so that cant be it.

Correction Bynum is on the blocks and fg& but it skips right over him for ppg & rebs even though Bynum is 2nd in the NBA in ppg for centers and 4th in the nba period for rebs.

It's because he missed those few games. No big deal, he'll be there eventually.
