he's been paid BELOW the mle every single yr of his deal, so he's been paid as a below average player. anywhoo, i don't think its a defensible argument that he wasn't important to the lakers. replaceable? sure, important? of course.

That's a flawed argument. He may be paid below the average, but he's far far below the average when playing hurt. Only for small stretches is he ever worth even that below average salary.

It's a major drain on the Lakers to have Sasha Vujajic and Luke Walton costing them so much ever year and not giving them a solid backup SG and solid backup SF. For that reason they must find a way to turn Sasha into a solid backup SG/SF and soon.

Perhaps they'll deal Morrison for that backup player and then use Sasha's contract to acquire a PG next year.

Walton? Who knows.
